2024 Toyota Land Cruiser: Exploring Each Trim Level

  • The 2024 Land Cruiser returns with three distinct trims, including a mid-tier trim called the First Edition, which is a line-of-the-top and a base model called the 1958.
  • Each trim gets unique looks, with different headlight designs, different wheel and tire options, and off-road accessories like a front skid plate.
  • While the cabin of the base model has an 8.0-inch touchscreen, more expensive Land Cruisers upgrade to a 12.3-inch unit.Output: Despite the fact that the cabin of the entry-level model is equipped with an 8.0-inch touchscreen, pricier Land Cruisers enhance it by installing a 12.3-inch unit.
  • The new 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser will be available in three distinct models, representing the stripped-down base trim and the standard edition. The starting price for the mid-range model will be around $50,000, while the fully loaded version will cost nearly $90,000, effectively continuing the pricing trend of its predecessor. With this lineup, Toyota is bringing back the rugged SUV to the United States, offering a more varied range of models.

The Blue Heritage and Dust Trail hues give the painted roof a two-tone look, resembling a grayscape. Seven paint colors will be available, including a new shade called Shower Meteor. Additionally, the First Edition adds a front skid plate, rear door guard, mud flaps, and a roof rack with rock rails. It also reverts to round headlights. This trim offers 20-inch wheels with 265/60 tires, but it also comes with larger 18-inch wheels wearing 265/70 all-season rubber. The next-level Land Cruiser sports a different face with rectangular LED headlights and amber and white fog lamps that can be switched between. In 1958, Toyota made sure to visually distinguish each model, and the 1958 model rides on 18-inch wheels shod in all-season tires and comes with round LED headlights and fog lamps.

The mid-tier Land Cruiser is equipped with power adjustments for ventilated and heated seats, which are upholstered with Toyota’s synthetic leather. In contrast, the 1958 model has manually adjustable cloth seats and a larger 12.3-inch unit. Additionally, the steering wheel is heated. The cabins of the two models are noticeably distinct. A standard feature in both is an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

The initial release also comes with a key enclosed in a one-of-a-kind stitched casing. Many of these characteristics can be found on the Land Cruiser’s middle-tier model, which offers a Premium option that substitutes the artificial leather for genuine material and incorporates a 14-speaker JBL audio system. Additionally, the package encompasses a head-up display, a digital rearview mirror, and a sunroof.

The Land Cruiser model from Toyota offers various terrain-specific drive modes to help SUV drivers find as much grip as possible in adverse conditions. The Multi-Terrain Select is a standard feature that brings multiple uses for the camera views to help drivers avoid obstacles on the trail. Additionally, this mid-tier model also includes features such as an anti-roll bar, electronic disconnecting front bar, and a Multi-Terrain Monitor. The Land Cruiser comes with a rear differential locking system and a 2400-watt AC inverter for powering accessories. It also packs more off-road goodies and comes in a more expensive trim.

The new Tacoma Trailhunter, a version of the nameplate that focuses on overlanding adventures, could also be seen as a card. It offers plenty of blacked-out accents and even more robust hardware. If we wait, we could see Toyota adding even more off-road-oriented models with the TRD branding to the range-topping Pro TRD line. But for now, we’ll have to wait until next spring when these three trims go on sale for the Land Cruiser.
