It’s not often that I find myself laughing heartily at a design, but Shower Tandem proposes an unconventional solution that seems to have plagued plenty of people – the problem of showering together. Hollywood has somehow made showering together look incredibly sexy, but the reality is sad. The sad reality is that only one person gets to shower at a time, while the other stands beside them feeling cold and wet because the showerheads in the bathroom are simply not designed for two people. So, when a couple decides to ‘spice things up’ and shower together, they are faced with the problem of doubling the amount of showerheads in the bathroom. Sure, it’s not a logistical nightmare of short beds that can accommodate two people comfortably…But it’s definitely a nightmare nonetheless. Shower Tandem aims to solve that problem by designing a showerhead that can comfortably accommodate two people – a solution that seems unconventional to some, but delightful to look at.

The Shower Tandem is a pretty compelling case for solo showers, as it provides a 360° immersive experience with tanning in mind. It is also perfect for couples, as it distributes your shower into two distinct streams. Additionally, the Shower Tandem is an easy-to-install accessory that requires no plumber. It is designed to directly attach to your existing showers. It’s not only a fun bonding experience, like watching TV or snuggling on the sofa together, but it also saves time and water. Although it may be difficult to execute showering together, the Shower Tandem makes it pretty neat.
The Shower Tandem was designed to work with a wide variety of handhelds, featuring even styles and a showerhead with a wide range of options. In addition to the existing shower, the Tandem showerhead allows you to adjust the flow of water by letting you angle the joint socket and ball. It also comes with a flexible hose, allowing you to mount it with plenty of clearance, which is especially useful for taller individuals. It’s worth noting that the Shower Tandem was also designed with other considerations in mind. The valve on the Shower Tandem effectively lets you switch between running both showerheads simultaneously or choosing either one. The design of the Shower Tandem also allows it to effectively distribute water between both showerheads, connecting directly to the water inlet of your existing showerhead. This adjustable design makes it suitable for most bathrooms.
Jeff and Brett, who had previously worked at Amazon as engineers on the autonomous delivery robot Scout and the Go stores, came up with the delightfully bizarre idea for a dual-shower system. After spending roughly a year working together on Tandem, they decided to crowdfund their idea on Kickstarter. I was surprised that even if I searched for concrete data to prove the existence of such a system on Amazon, I wouldn’t find any. However, I must digress and admit that I had some sort of demand for this dual-shower system.

The Shower Tandem can comfortably fit in showers with a distance between walls of 76″ and 57″ and is available in colors such as salmon pink, Miami blue, and black chrome.
