Johnson, Boris and Symonds, Carrie have chosen the name Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson for their son, as a way to honor their grandfathers and the medical professionals who provided care to the prime minister during his battle with COVID-19.
On Saturday, Symonds posted a picture on Instagram of the newborn, holding her, and expressed her utmost joy, stating that she is overjoyed and her heart is filled with happiness.
Symonds and Wilfred are believed to have returned to Downing Street with Johnson.
Symonds also encountered symptoms of the disease. Johnson, who had been receiving intensive care treatment for Covid-19, was discharged just weeks before he came. The couple announced on Wednesday that she had given birth to a baby boy earlier that day.
She posted on her Instagram account: “Introducing Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson, who was born on 29.04.20 at 9am.
The two physicians who rescued Boris’s life last month were Dr. Nick Price and Dr. Nick Hart – Nicholas was given his name in their honor. Lawrie was named after my grandfather, while Wilfred was named after Boris’s grandfather.
My heart is full. I couldn’t be happier. I looked so well after us, that I am so thankful to the incredible maternity team at UCLH NHS.

“We hope the new family experiences good health and happiness.”
We are proud of the tributes made by NHS London’s staff to Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Carrie Symonds.
“We hope the family experiences nothing but the best.”
The family is planning to live on Downing Street, along with their flat, said Dilyn. The prime minister is expected to take a short paternity leave later in the year.
The couple, who had gotten engaged at the end of 2019, announced in February that they were expecting a baby in the early summer.
Following Johnson’s victory in the Conservative party leadership competition, the couple relocated to Downing Street last summer to establish their official residence, thus becoming the first unmarried pair.
The latest addition is the third child born to a current prime minister in recent times.
In the year 2010, David and Samantha Cameron joyfully celebrated the arrival of their daughter Florence. Three years following her husband’s initial triumph in the election, Cherie, the wife of Tony Blair, gave birth to their son Leo in the month of May 2000.
The most recent infants born to prime ministers prior to Leo and Florence’s arrival were over 150 years ago.
Wilfred is Symonds’s eldest offspring. Johnson is known to have sired five children.
