Calvin Klein ad with trans man wearing bra sparks comparisons to Bud Light

A Calvin Klein ad from 2022 featuring a bearded transgender man wearing a sports bra before undergoing top surgery has sparked a firestorm after Dylan Mulvaney, a transgender influencer, promoted Bud Light’s Light’s Bud.

In the 2022 Pride campaign, Bappie Kortram, a trans influencer from the Netherlands, wore a bra with the words “This is love” tattooed on it, while exposing Calvin Klein underwear.

Calvin Klein, the Danish physician, stated in a tweet on Tuesday that there was a rapid backlash against the fashion brand’s image. Maria Anastasia Loupis wants to break away from the generated image.

“What a fantastic method to ‘Bud Light’ themselves,” one critic replied.

“Seems like a Bud-Lite moment,” another repeated.

Numerous users on social media also pledged to boycott the brand.

“Another company to include in the Do Not Purchase List,” announced one critic.

Another person commented, “I don’t understand why they go to such great measures just to enforce a belief system that the majority of people don’t desire.”

Loupis’ tweet has been seen over 6 million times and has received more than 38,000 likes.

According to the Daily Mail, British Zebedee Talent, the agency representing Bappie, characterizes the influencer as “a transgender individual who has not undergone chest surgery at this point.”

Bappie stood next to a curvy model named Jamilla for the photoshoot.

Bappie expressed on Instagram, ‘There aren’t enough words in any language to adequately describe how much Jamilla and I love @jiggly.Cake and how much this shooting experience means to us both.’

“The fact that we were selected for the pride collection of Calvin Klein makes us proud on many intersecting levels,” he continued.

Kortram, who appeared with plus-size model Jamilla, thanked the company “for allowing them “to showcase unapologetic fat love, fat pride, fat cis bodies, fat trans bodies, fat joy.”

Calvin Klein’s body suit and bralettes made me feel comfortable and confident. They are designed for all body types, including trans bodies, cis bodies, and bodies of all sizes. It’s a celebration of fat bodies, cis pride, and unapologetic self-love. Bappie couldn’t help but express their admiration for Calvin Klein’s inclusive showcase.

He stated, “I believe it is important to celebrate and show bodies of transgender individuals who embrace feminine items, as it does not negate their masculinity.”

The enduring controversy surrounding Dylan Mulvaney’s transition from female to male has gone viral, sparking outrage in April with another trans influencer, 26-year-old Mulvaney Dylan, partnering with Bud Light to create an image.
