Rice, the father of Paul, is now calling for a change in the community culture of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, urging people to look harder at the issue of underage drinking.
Madi Brooks, 19, was captured stumbling intoxicated in the surveillance footage, supposedly having been sexually assaulted following her encounter with a quartet of men at a nearby college pub.
The young woman belonging to the sorority was subjected to a horrific act of sexual assault perpetrated by Kaivon Washington, who is 18 years old, along with a minor boy who is 17 years old. Additionally, Everett Lee, aged 28, and Cason Carver, aged 18, have been charged as accomplices to the abhorrent crime.
Lee and Carver, who have since been released on bail, were in the front of the car when the alleged incidents occurred.
Madi, a member of the Phi Alpha sorority, was hit by a car during a ride-share and then dumped on the side of the road, suffering from multiple traumatic injuries before dying in the hospital.
At the time of her death, she had 0.39 percent alcohol in her bloodstream and had been enjoying herself at Reggie’s bar in Tigerland, where it is believed that she was employed.
Paul, a student at LSU, has now vowed that ‘enough is enough’ after the second death of a student and the need for a change in outlook and calling for months.
Paul, speaking to DailyMail.Com, stated that in the vicinity, there has been a considerable amount of altercations and illicit substance-related incidents. He further mentioned that the area surrounding the bar has a longstanding record of such occurrences.
Many unfortunate incidents have occurred, and numerous bars are known for serving customers who are below the legal drinking age.
There is a notoriety for it there. That establishment provided them with alcoholic beverages. Three of the individuals who have been apprehended – alongside Madi – were all below the legal drinking age, and that is one of the aspects that has been revealed in this specific instance.
Madi and Allie have different circumstances, but as parents, we send our kids off to school expecting them to become responsible adults and mature, setting forth on a path to great careers that tragically, has not been taken from us.
“Madi’s campus is just a few miles away from LSU, making it a direct walking distance for targeted students. However, it’s important to note that the LSU campus is technically not located in the same area where Allie’s murder took place. This is something that is very challenging to comprehend and understand.”
This incident in Baton Rouge has exposed us to a more specific type of violent crime, not necessarily related to guns.
Last year, Allie’s death was the 74th in East Baton Rouge Parish, following a string of crimes that occurred against LSU students.
On August 19, another student was shot during an attempted robbery, and just days later two separate kidnapping cases happened on campus.
According to the FBI, Baton Rouge has one of the highest murder rates in Louisiana.
No one has been arrested yet in connection with Allie’s death, and the family is still offering a $50k reward for any information that leads to a breakthrough.
Devin, a 3-year-old, was tragically killed in 2022 by a stray bullet. Allie, another victim, also lost her life in the same incident. The family, devastated by the loss, managed to secure funding for over 15 additional security cameras and actively advocated for their installation in the entire area.
The current situation has reached its limit. It is not secure. These occurrences are still ongoing, despite the efforts of our leaders and citizens to unite and bring about a transformation. Criminal activity is pervasive, it is increasingly prevalent, Paul remarked.
There are segments of our population and areas of our town that need to be addressed. Ultimately, it comes down to the needed change in our culture.
To address the ongoing issues, we must find a suitable approach to ensuring the well-being of our children in school. This may involve considering counseling services or providing them with the necessary attention and affection that they require.
I haven’t spoken to Madi’s parents, but I can imagine the pain they’re in, considering what we have felt for the past four months.
We are prepared and eager to assist them, and what has happened to her is truly terrible.
The untamed juvenile shenanigans within were captured in a TikTok video – and the clique she encountered at the tavern appeared to be associated with the place Madi frequented after DailyMail.Com exposed it.
The video shows students wearing uniforms from the bar, carrying partygoers to the bathroom, while some others are taking a straight swig from the bottle and falling over the bar onto the floor.
A man can be observed wielding a baseball bat, striking a pinata that is being used as a makeshift ball. Additionally, another individual can be spotted swinging on a bar while holding a cup.
The video is packed with antics from Snapchat, showcasing the staff and female students like Madi, offering a cover for the Greek sorority girls at the bar.
A lawyer for the bar, Kris Perrett, affirmed in a statement that they are ‘completely collaborating with authorities’.
Footage shows many of the staff performing lewd dances together and a seemingly intoxicated girl collapsing over the bar as drinks flow.
Paul has encouraged college students, both male and female, to stay together during evenings out to guarantee their security.
He said that the main message to these college-aged youth is that they need to understand that it is not safe to travel in groups and stick with each other otherwise.
They would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other – they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or they would not let anyone get separated or look out for each other or
‘I truly believe that is something that should be emphasized once more, remaining in groups to ensure safety.
It’s a wake-up call to these students here that you may think you’re going somewhere safe, but there are people who know when to attack and prey on you at any given time.
‘Watch out for your friends. And it’s not only a female issue, guys also need to support each other.’
