Hayden Panettiere is being candid about her struggles with addiction and mental health, letting fans know that they are not alone.
Jansen Panettiere, her younger sibling, passed away unexpectedly last month at the age of 28. The interview took place in January, and Panettiere, who is now 33, shared her thoughts in a cover story for Women’s Health magazine in April.
The shop informed her, “once again, it makes you feel much worse the next day, but in that moment, alcohol might make you feel better. I wish my coping mechanism was something other than drinking. Some individuals find solace in work.”
In the year 2015, Panettiere experienced her initial period in rehabilitation while shooting the fourth season of “Nashville”. She expressed, “I was the individual who voluntarily admitted myself to the primary treatment facility. I felt overwhelmed.”

In 2014, following the birth of her daughter Kaya Evdokia Klitschko, she experienced postpartum depression and her employment made it impractical for her to alter her routines, but medical professionals recommended it.
“Panettiere mentioned that I wasn’t ready to stop drinking, and they don’t mix well with alcohol. It is important for you to find the right one that works for you.”
The actress remembered, “Experiencing these genuine emotions in my actual life, and then portraying them on screen, was incredibly challenging. Additionally, when she traveled to a foreign country, she left behind her child, and the media depicted her as suffering from postpartum depression. The fact that my character in ‘Nashville’ also had a storyline involving postpartum depression hit a little too close to home.”
Panettiere granted complete custody of her daughter to former partner Wladimir Klitschko in 2018 as her depression and alcohol dependency intensified.

The “Scream VI” actress informed Women’s Health that her hair was sparse and falling out in clumps. Her body had reached its limit as she turned 30, resulting in facial swelling and jaundice. Her eyes took on a yellow hue, prompting her to seek help from a liver specialist. Additionally, she noticed an unusual weight gain that impacted her motor skills, cognitive abilities, and overall well-being. She emphasized the significance of sleep, revealing her struggles with sleep deprivation.
She stated, “I invested considerable effort into self-improvement. Following an intense therapy period of eight months, I experienced a sense of having a fresh slate to build upon.” In the year 2021, Panettiere enrolled in a 12-step program and initiated trauma therapy.
In a video for the publication, she reassured supporters, “You are not by yourself.”
Panettiere said, “I hope you are too. And I am happy to say that I am winning today, and it’s been a battle every day.”
