Is House of the Dragon episode 11 releasing on Sunday, Oct 30?
For the past 10 weeks, the TV show on everyone’s mind has been the outstanding Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon. After a dramatic cliffhanger in the skies about Storm’s End last week, millions of fans are waiting patiently for news on what to expect next as Westeros descends into civil war.
However, many are also wondering whether House of the Dragon episode 11 is set to release on Sunday, October 30, or whether episode 10 was the season finale.
No Episode 11 on October 30
Unfortunately, there is no House of the Dragon episode 11 releasing on Sunday, October 30, as episode 10 ‘The Black Queen’ was indeed the season 1 finale.
Season 2 Release Date
Whilst a specific release date for House of the Dragon season 2 has not been confirmed, HBO Chief Casey Bloys did reveal in a recent interview with Vulture that we should expect episode 11 (S2 ep 1) to air in 2024.
“Don’t expect it in ’23, but I think sometime in ’24. We’re just starting to put the plan together, and just like last time, there are so many unknowns. It’s not to be coy or secretive, but you don’t want to say it’s going to be ready on this date, and then you have to move it.” – Casey Bloys, via Vulture.
Season 2 Prioritization
Bloys would then share how season 2 of House of the Dragon will likely take priority over the development of another spin-off series.
“I think probably the next thing would be season two. I try not to comment too much on development, so there’s not a whole lot to say, other than when we find the story that George is happy with and we’re happy with, we’ll move forward.” – Casey Bloys, via Vulture.
Production Plans
Co-creator and Executive Producer Ryan Condal would then tell Variety that the plan is to start production in early 2023. He also shared how, “We will cast Cregan Stark at some point,” but in regards to whether we will see the Stark ancestor in season 2: “I can’t answer that.”
Condal explains why Daemon choked Rhaenyra
In the same interview with Variety, Condal revealed why Daemon decided to choke Rhaenyra after she mentioned the ‘Song of Ice and Fire’ in the Dragonstone war room.
“It’s a moment that I think is surprising and shocking for Daemon as a character, but I also think it’s one of those things that’s been set up over the course of the entire season,” says the showrunner.
“Daemon — while an incredibly charismatic and deeply interesting, complex character, I think — he’s also capable of great darkness. It’s simmering just beneath the surface. When he learns in that moment that Viserys never believed in him enough, as his actual heir to the throne, to pass this thing on that he clearly just easily passed on to Rhaenyra, it breaks him.” – Ryan Condal, via Variety.
