Kirstie Alley revealed that she struggled to resist breaking her marital vows when she developed emotions for her two appealing co-stars.
Yesterday, the death of Kirstie Alley, some of the most beloved men in Hollywood, was announced. She was admired and had close relationships with many people in the industry.
While filming the mini-series North and South, she developed feelings for her co-star Patrick Swayze and confided in her colleagues that she had nearly eloped with John Travolta in the past. Additionally, as a participant on Celebrity Big Brother UK in 2018, the actress disclosed this information.
In 1989, Kirstie Alley starred in the highly successful trilogy Look Who’s Talking, which included Look Who’s Talking Too (1990) and Look Who’s Talking Now (1993). Although Alley didn’t mention the exact time when she was smitten with Travolta, they did act together in these movies.
“I still adore him, I had adored him,” she revealed to her Big Brother colleagues. “I nearly eloped and wedded John. I believe I smooched Travolta.”
“Additionally, I would have been aboard an aircraft as he possesses his personal airplane. If I had not been married, I would have chosen to marry him,” she stated. However, the actress, who was in a marital union at that moment, affirmed that she did not violate her marital commitment.
Preston Kelly, who was married to Travolta Kelly, died from breast cancer in 2020. The pair, who got married in 1991, appeared in the film “Talking Who’s Look” before their marriage.
“‘One of the most challenging experiences I have ever encountered,’ she stated, providing further insight into her connection with John Travolta, during an interview with The Sun that Alley conducted later in 2018.”
“It wasn’t an intimate connection because I’m not going to betray my spouse,” she started.
She exclaimed, “I deem my actions to be more egregious since I genuinely allowed myself to develop feelings for him and maintain those feelings for an extended period.” “However, I believe there exist circumstances that are far more severe than engaging in sexual relationships or betraying someone in such a manner.”
Alley admitted that her fascination with Travolta persisted until his spouse, Kelly Preston, confronted her in 1991.
Afterwards, that marked the conclusion of the situation and I had to make a choice when that happened, she recollected, “Um, why are you showing interest in my spouse?” She stated and they tied the knot at that point, and Kelly approached me.
Alley also discussed her romantic feelings for co-star Patrick Swayze during the filming of the 1985 miniseries North and South.
In 2018, during her appearance on Celebrity Big Brother, she remarked, “I would not have pursued a romantic involvement [with him],” but considering that we were both married, I would have been inclined to engage in a secret relationship with Patrick Swayze.
She explained, “Although I am a strong believer in marriage and fidelity, I wish I could have had an affair and kissed him.” She added, “It’s very easy to fall in love with a leading man, especially in a movie and when you are on the road.”
Kirstie Alley had two unions. Her initial union was with spouse Bob Alley from 1970 to 1977 and her subsequent union was with actor Parker Stevenson from 1983 to 1997. The duo had two offspring, son William, 30, and daughter Lillie, 28.
John Travolta paid a heartfelt tribute to his late friend Alley Kirstie by posting a moving Instagram photo, gazing into each other’s eyes in a pair.
“Once again, we will see each other and recognize each other. I love you, Kirstie. Out of all the special relationships I’ve had, Kirstie was the most significant,” he wrote, additionally stating, “I have loved you, Kirstie.”
Kirstie Alley passed away after a brief fight against cancer, as confirmed by her family.
“We regret to inform you that our amazing, strong, and affectionate mother has passed away,” her children wrote.
She was surrounded by her closest family as she fought with great strength, leaving us with the certainty of never-ending joy and whatever adventures lie ahead.
