One of the best romance novels of 2022 – Him of Reminders – once again proves she couldn’t possibly deliver another stellar book, and it just reminds me of how incredible Colleen Hoover’s books are.

It’s an understatement to say that Hoover Colleen’s book “Reminders” exceeded my high standards. I had already read it, both before it started and after it ended, and it was truly amazing.

I am a romance book lover, but Him of Reminders will not only appeal to readers of contemporary fiction. This amazing and strong heroine is loved by any reader, as I am constantly amazed at how she tugs on my heartstrings with her stories, characters, and words. After finishing Him of Reminders, I am even more in awe of this author.

Despite being continuously knocked down, the young woman who has lived and endured so much shows absolute resilience in this book, stealing the spotlight completely.

In Memories of Him, she demonstrated remarkable resilience, along with a forgiving and composed nature, showing compassion in a way that I honestly don’t think I could have, and she truly embodies the essence of a strong female protagonist.

Kenna honestly didn’t fare much better, spending five years in prison and losing her child. Kenna’s love story with Scotty was cut short due to a tragic accident, ultimately paying the ultimate price. However, Kenna is a woman who didn’t grow up with her mother’s love.

Kenna’s daughter, whom she hasn’t had the chance to meet or even glimpse, resides with Scotty’s parents in the same town where Kenna relocates with whatever meager funds she possesses after being set free. Kenna is willing to go to any lengths just to catch a glimpse of her child, displaying unwavering dedication despite lacking any legal claim to her. However, in this particular town, Kenna faces the challenge of not only maintaining shelter but also dealing with the negative reputation that precedes her.

There she encounters Ledger, Scotty’s ex-best friend, who is unaware of her identity during their initial encounter.

I loved Ledger, who goes through such tragic turmoil, knowing what he knows about her. He also feels an instant connection to Kenna, given the betrayal and hatred suffered by your best friend’s parents. It can’t be easy losing your best friend in such a way.

He lives across from Kenna’s parents, so he has always had a close relationship with her, since she was born. She is beautiful.

It must have been incredibly difficult for her to have her mother suddenly return to her life. It must be a beautiful reminder of your son, what a gift. The way they lost him, the tragedy of losing a child, is something I can’t even begin to comprehend. I can fully empathize with the Landrys in this situation.

I absolutely adore how Colleen Hoover flawlessly captures the emotions and thoughts of each character, allowing the readers to truly empathize and connect with them. This is the aspect of the book that resonates with me the most, although I do have other reasons for enjoying it.

Witnessing Kenna’s growth and strength, I was moved by her absolute devotion to her daughter, whom she had never met and simply named. It was truly a reminder of the best parts of Him.

Colleen Hoover used letters written by Scotty almost daily to help Kenna understand and process her ability to forgive herself and move forward on her path, as well as to help us understand and support Kenna’s character development.

No spoilers! I loved how everything unfolded, but I think the ending could have been a little abrupt. I could see how Scotty and Ledger were best friends, but some people may have some concerns about the instalove between Ledger and Kenna. Overall, I absolutely loved everything about this book, so it’s definitely a five-star read.

I marked numerous sections in this book. Take a look at some of the finest quotes that serve as reminders of Him.

Who Will Love Reminders of Him?

Those who appreciate books with strong female leads and narratives centered around young characters will find Reminders of Him to be captivating.

This is such a great book about the devotion, strength, and humanity of a woman, even if romance isn’t your preferred genre. Readers will definitely enjoy Him of Reminders, of course, a romance.

Similar to Ugly Love, this book brought me to tears and evoked intense emotions just like It Ends With Us and It Starts With Us, so if you’re familiar with Colleen Hoover’s previous works, then you absolutely must read this one as it stands among her finest.

If you are new to Colleen Hoover’s books, definitely pick up “Reminders of Him” as each new release gets better and better.

This is an independent novel, so give it a read and then explore the entire collection of Colleen Hoover book series afterwards.
