South Hill One, a recently opened apartment building in DC, constantly finds new ways to stand out from other luxury buildings with its unique amenities. One such amenity is a dog park on the rooftop, which is not as common as one might think. In fact, it has become quite a popular amenity among the residents of Equinox, although it is exclusively for them. In addition to the rooftop dog park, the building has also hired in-house sommeliers, adding to the list of unique amenities it offers.
The gym membership at South Hill One is just one of the many perks of living in the building, with units ranging from two to three bedrooms for a fee of $75 per month, and one-bedroom apartments and studios for a fee of $50 per month. Being a resident in the building also provides the potential for celebrity sightings and high-end interiors similar to Equinox, making it a favorite among the elite fitness crowd.
The studio space is equipped with a smart television, where residents can pull up their favorite workout videos on YouTube. Additionally, residents can meet up with a personal trainer or take classes in a separate studio room. There is also an “open stretch” space with hand weights, dumbbells, cardio machines, a barre, and a mirror for bar workouts. The gym is designed in a full-size Equinox gym style, with a variety of fitness machines including hammer grip iron strength machines. The gym floors are made of recycled rubber, making them ideal for high-impact workouts. Outside the gym entrance, there is a self-service coffee bar and an iMac bar where residents can check their emails before heading to their workout.
Moreover, apart from exercising individually in the Equinox-branded area, inhabitants have the opportunity to partake in complimentary fitness sessions by collaborating with nearby trainers to incorporate their teachings into the gym. Presently, the gym falls short in terms of offering a comprehensive selection of instructor-led classes in comparison to a typical Equinox. However, the most significant absence at the moment is the absence of a full-scale basketball court that is connected to the gym, which is truly remarkable.
The residents of South Hill One can find their zen while staring down at the spectacular views of the Washington Monument and the Capitol Building. The rooftop is used for yoga classes or meditation, with pretty lawns and sod to relax sore muscles. There are also two hot tubs for relaxation and a rooftop pool for swimming, including an aqua Zumba class. Equinox is not the only relevant amenity for fitness-minded residents, but there is also a rooftop pool for workouts and swimming.
The starting rent for a studio apartment at the 383-unit building is $2,000, and it is quite expensive considering all the facilities it offers (including rooftop grills and fire pits, reservable party spaces, and on-site doggie daycare).
