Seasons in London

It is advisable to bring a light jacket or sweater for cool summer evenings, but there is no need to pack heavy winter clothing.

Fall (September – November).

Autumn in London is typically the rainiest season, so be prepared for wet weather. Expect lows around 10°C (50°F) and highs ranging from 12°C (53°F) to 20°C (68°F). The temperatures usually sharply drop in October before the summer weather lasts through September.

The winter season (December – February).

In London, winters are characterized by cold and often rainy weather. It is not uncommon to have temperatures below freezing and to see snow. The average low temperature between February and December is 41°F (5°C), while the average high is 48°F (9°C). To ensure warmth, it is advisable to pack a winter coat along with a scarf, gloves, and hat.
