Trapps Von, the hunting Nazi, visited the abbey with her kids. Maria left the abbey, singing “Maria” in the courtyard, where scenes from the movie were filmed. It was founded in A.D. 714.

Within the stunning Gothic abbey, guests will observe that the inside of the Abbey differs from the film, as shooting within the monastery was prohibited, hence the interior scenes were filmed in a Hollywood studio.
