On Thursday, the gates with parking for most Kansas City Chiefs games at Arrowhead Stadium, the home of the NFL team, are expected to open outside the Union Station Experience Fan, which is located on the lawn of the Liberty Memorial and WWI Museum in Kansas City, Missouri.
Due to the large number of people, organizers decided to open the gates at 11:30 a.M. Instead of waiting until noon.
Fans are obligated to download the NFL OnePass app and register, while their kids can sign up as adults. The NFL Draft Experience is a complimentary football-themed amusement park where fans can engage in interactive activities.
On Thursday afternoon, the NFL unexpectedly did not utilize QR codes through the app for granting access to the experience. According to FOX4 workers, they were solely scanning the QR codes for individuals engaging in activities within the entry gates. As anticipated, people from various parts of the country were being brought in due to the draft.
In an interview with FOX4 on Thursday, Grady Aaron, a resident of Atlanta, Georgia, stated, “I don’t get to see the big difference between the city of Kansas and the countryside, like being in Atlanta.”
Grady has held season tickets for the Atlanta Falcons for the previous three years. He reached the memorial ahead of schedule on Thursday.
“Because everyone wants to get autographs, pictures of all types, and make sure we come out on time, it’s going to be a big rush before 8 o’clock. However, we realized that there would be a limited capacity here, so we had to wait until we read that it wasn’t available.”
No one was being let in Wednesday afternoon. The NFL stated that they would allow just over 60,000 fans at a time, and registering through the OnePass application did not ensure you a spot inside the entry gates. The NFL announced that the game would start at 8 o’clock Eastern Time or 7 o’clock Central Time.
In an interview with FOX4 on Thursday, Kansas City resident Antonio Howard expressed, “It’s going to reach the maximum limit. Just a short stroll up the hill for five minutes. No difficulties. Pay $50 for your parking, arrive here, use Uber to arrive here… If it’s feasible for you.”
On Thursday afternoon, Howard even carried his newborn baby in a backpack attached to his chest. Howard went on to say, “We won two Super Bowls with Pat. We had the opportunity to host the draft.” Howard also mentioned, “I hope we can have a covered stadium to host the Super Bowl — fingers crossed.”
In the upcoming season, promising up-and-coming talents will make their debut before discovering their designated teams, while supporters gather and fully enjoy the entire spectacle. At 4:45 p.M., The NFL Draft Red Carpet will commence.
Before the start of the draft at 7 p.M., Oleta Adams from Kansas City will delight the audience with her performance of “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”
At the National WWI Museum and Memorial, Brittney Spencer is set to perform the national anthem while the Drummers of the United States Army Field Band and the Joint Armed Forces Color Guard of the Military District of Washington display the flag.
Fall Out Boy will take the stage on Thursday for the first of three live shows after the initial round. Each day, the local Kansas City band “Lost Wax” will entertain the crowd during breaks in the draft picks.
