8 Dark Olive Green House Designs

#1 // Contemporary Design with an Industrial Flare

With its sharp lines and striking geometry, this contemporary design resonates. We mixed wood and stone-like materials in the natural building to add more layers to this dark olive green house. To amplify the modern lighting and iron elements, we painted the siding with Benjamin Moore’s breathtaking deep shade of Aegean Olive. In our round-up of the best exterior paint colors for 2022, we included this shade that is so appealing and enhances the industrial look of the curb.

#2 // Wood Shutters + Earth Tones

We chose Sherwin Williams’ Pewter Green for the cladding, which is a beautiful olive shade with prominent gray undertones, in order to align with the nature-inspired color scheme that the client desired. Everything is harmoniously coordinated, starting from the pathway pavers and wooden shutters to the copper gutters and wooden porch columns. This house, painted in a deep olive green hue, wholeheartedly embraces the earthy palette.

#3 // Dark Olive Green House with White Trim

Benjamin Moore’s White Dove is the paint color that we used on the siding, with the trim painted in James Hardie’s Park Neighborhood. Our designers recommended this combination as it gives the house a welcoming and warm feel. The client wanted an on-trend color and chose a dark olive green for the siding, which pairs well with the clean look provided by the White trim.

#4 // Olive Green Siding with Natural Elements

The powerful green-gray color of khaki has been enhanced by incorporating natural undertones into all of our materials. As one of our favorite exterior house colors for 2022, we had included it on this list. While Dried Thyme from Sherwin Williams is not as deep as some of the other dark olive green house designs on this list, Olive Green siding beautifully complements natural elements like wood and stone.

#5 // Two-Toned Siding

If you want a dark olive green house without sacrificing warmth, we used Benjamin Moore’s Winterwood on the siding and most of the home, with Olive Aegean somewhere between green and gray for a neutral and comfortable color scheme overall. We know the right color pairings to achieve that.

We always recommend sampling and testing paint colors before committing. Factors such as natural lighting, undertones, and your property’s fixed elements will have a significant impact on how a color will appear on your exterior. Our friends at Samplize offer extra-large 9 x 14.75 inch peel-and-stick paint samples of the colors we love for exteriors. Order your ‘Real Paint, No Mess’ samples from Samplize here.

#6 // Dark + Rustic Aesthetic

The deck brings out a natural, rustic feel to this home with its thick natural wood columns. We chose the deepest black paint color — Black Tricorn from Sherwin Williams. Since our client wanted a daring rustic design with a color scheme, we suggested Green Woods Dakota for the siding. Benjamin Moore’s Green Woods Dakota is an ideal choice for a moody and dark palette, with its rich and deeply saturated olive tones.

#7 // Ranch Home with a Rustic Vibe

The use of cultured stone adds a more uniform texture. Our designers chose Green Pewter for the siding, without overdoing it or including too many wood accents. This choice lends a rustic exterior design to the home, with olive tones that fit well in the earthy realm. The logs on the house give it a sturdy and rustic look, without making it appear larger than it needs to be.

#8 // Dark Olive Green Siding with Greige Brick

The combination of deep olive and warm greige shades, as shown earlier in our example using Green Woods Dakota, has a dramatic effect when paired with other dark tones. Here, our designers juxtapose Benjamin Moore’s Pewter Revere with the deep olive shade, creating a contrasting and inviting aesthetic with a warmer undertone.
