Shocking moment group of teens attack woman in Chicago on the same night they torched cars

“It wasn’t chaos,” asserted departing Mayor Lori Lightfoot, as a gang of young individuals assaulted her amid a rampage of brutality, capturing the distressing cries of a terrified lady on camera.

Progressing forward and aggressively attacking her prior to entering her establishment, a cluster of predominantly African American adolescents encircled a Caucasian woman in the 19-second video recorded during Saturday’s ‘teen takeover’.

It’s unclear what prompted the attack, as the camera began rolling on the verge of the beginning. She could be heard screaming in fright as her captors cackled with laughter during the attack.

The video was labeled with the caption: ‘Hooray, we become active.’

On Saturday evening, in the downtown area of the city, a Twitter profile disclosed information about criminal activities in the Windy City and mentioned that the video had been incorporated into a collection of social media posts resembling a “mix tape,” allegedly related to the incident involving a significant number of individuals.

More footage showed chaos descending after a massive brawl started, while some teenagers attempted to breach and jump on top of a bus at Park Millennium in the evening.

Gunshots rang out, striking two teenage boys aged 17 and 16, who were reported to be in stable condition as of Sunday.

Cars were also left impaired near East Washington Street in Chicago, including a Tesla that was confiscated and ignited.

On Saturday, a situation unfolded where more than a hundred unruly teenagers turned violent, setting fire to and vandalizing many cars while playing loud music.

A total of 15 individuals were apprehended, comprising nine grown-ups and six youngsters.

The authorities were unable to contain or hinder the destruction caused by the teenagers, whose count may have surpassed 1,000.

Following the chaos wrought upon downtown Chicago by hordes of teenagers, outgoing Mayor Lori Lightfoot believes that a local reporter is incorrectly calling the scene a “mayhem” weekend.

Lightfoot, in defense of the teenagers, stated, ‘That’s completely and entirely suitable. The overwhelming majority of the youth who arrived in the city center did so due to the pleasant weather and the chance to relish the urban environment.’

“There’s chaos to express, which I believe is incorrect, the language you’re using. However, they will deal with it, and they have different intentions. A few came with different intentions,” she added.

Following the night of destruction, Chicago’s mayor-elect said the city should not demonize the teens who organized the takeover over the weekend.

However, Brandon Johnson, 47, stated on Sunday that it must not be employed as a means to defame the group. He added that he does not endorse the harmful behavior, which he believes is “unacceptable and inappropriate” for Chicago.

Johnson, a progressive Democrat, expressed, ‘when it comes to young individuals in their own neighborhoods who have had limited chances, it is counterproductive to vilify them nonetheless.’

Johnson is the mayor-elect, and is a former union organizer who has called for new taxes and more social programs in Chicago.

Despite the outrage over destruction and violence, Johnson said he thinks the forward path is the only way to give kids safer spaces to work together.

In a declaration, he expressed, “Both inhabitants and tourists, for all areas of our town, are still invited to guarantee that every part of our town stays open, with the presence of mature guidance and supervision, to assemble safely and responsibly, to establish areas for young people to congregate, our town must collaborate.”

A husband and wife from Illinois may not share the same view as Johnson’s strategy to refrain from vilifying the teenagers who instilled fear in the city.

The couple had driven from Indianapolis to the city on a warm spring weekend to take in the sights, but their night on Saturday ended with their minivan being attacked by an angry mob in the hospital where the husband was.

The spouse informed a nearby news source that ‘unexpectedly a crowd of teenagers ranging from 16 to 18 years old commenced ascending and striking our vehicle’ while the couple and another relative were driving in close proximity to the Chicago Cultural Center.

‘We even witnessed them climb onto a bus,’ she stated.

According to his spouse, the wounds are primarily psychological rather than bodily, yet the husband, who occupied the driver’s position during the incident, received medical attention for lacerations.

She expressed, ‘We’re incredibly frightened at the moment. We have no desire to leave the premises.’ ‘Both my spouse and I were trembling uncontrollably for a duration of 4 hours subsequent to the occurrence.’

The Toyota minivan belonging to the family had its windows broken and multiple significant dents on the rear of the car.
