A New Berlin Eisenhower graduate drew a laugh from Tiger Woods for wearing the golfer’s DUI arrest mugshot on a shirt

Over the weekend, a fan of the famous golfer Tiger Woods, who is also a former member of the golf team Lions and an alumnus of Eisenhower 2015, went viral for wearing a shirt that drew a reaction from the golfer at the Championship Players in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida on Saturday.

With Woods playing in each tournament, it can be impossible to get the attention on the course, where he receives the loudest and largest amount of attention.

However, Wesling had a secret advantage: a tee-shirt with Woods’ photograph from his 2017 DUI apprehension in Florida.

Wesling expressed, “I purchased the shirt immediately after Tiger’s victory last year (at the Tour Championship in September). As a devoted fan of Tiger, I have immense admiration for him, so upon reflection, I thought to myself, ‘I must wear it.’ I was aware that if I could elicit any kind of response from him regarding it, it would be of immeasurable value.”

Wesling received exactly that.

Wesling was prominently positioned between the verdant area of the 17th hole and the starting point for the 18th hole, capturing Woods’ attention as he strolled by.

In a video taken by a fan near Wesling, Woods is seen walking past and smirking as he glanced at the shirt.

Wesling, who was also wearing a hat from the Packers’ Super Bowl XXXI win over New England, posted the video to Twitter, where it has more than 1 million views on his account alone.

Wesling said, “If he saw it, he might think I’m mad and have someone take it off me.” It was funny to think that he believed it was possible, and I could get a smirk if it turned out to be perfect.

The timing for Wesling was just right, too.

Golfers both had struggled. Woods jokingly did his own birdie on the same. Before the cup moments, Na Kevin had rushed to pick his birdie putt out and shared a light-hearted moment with Woods, who had just birdied the 17th.

Woods, naturally, wasn’t the sole individual to respond to the shirt.

Wesling stated, “During the tournament, we received a reaction from almost every single person we encountered, but I truly did not expect this.”

Wesling was informed by one of the tournament staff members that the shirt would be located near the 18th tee. Throughout the day, Wesling encountered numerous players, including Jon Rahm and Jason Dufner, who provided great amusement. Dufner instructed his caddie to notify Woods’ caddie about this.

Wesling expressed, “I didn’t actually anticipate receiving acknowledgment from the players themselves.” “Due to the multitude of individuals vociferating at him, it becomes challenging for Tiger to acknowledge anyone.”

Wesling, a student at UW-La Crosse who is presently in Florida for the week during his spring break, is experiencing a sense of being inundated by the reaction.

Wesling expressed, “Due to the fact that it’s depleting my battery, I’ve been compelled to disable notifications and power off my phone. It has been quite absurd.” “I am not interested in being excessively attached to my phone, therefore I am on vacation as well.”

However, Wesling states that he is likely to abandon the shirt and intends to attend a tournament to watch Woods in the coming times, possibly at the Ryder Cup held at Whistling Straits in Kohler.

He stated, “It is the finest 20 dollars I have ever expended.” Perhaps in the future, I will opt for an alternative shirt, but the memory of receiving a chuckle from Tiger is something that will remain in my mind.
