Throughout the years, the point guard of the Nets has been engaged in a seemingly wide-ranging array of controversies. We shall endeavor to respond to a few inquiries: Why would he endorse conspiracy theories, from none other than Alex Jones? Why did he decline the covid-19 vaccine and why in the world does he hold the belief that the earth is flat? Is Kyrie Irving prejudiced against Jewish people?
Is Kyrie Irving more trouble than he’s worth?
His perspectives regarding Irving are not known to you, as it may be puzzling in the past. The fact is that he is now set to join the Dallas Mavericks, and a few days ago he requested a trade for Kyrie Irving, which you may or may not know.
Unfortunately, this is where we come to the other side of Irving Kyrie, where everything is the opposite polar of what we just said. You’re talking about a player who is often not considered a favorite fan, but who has made a large number of charitable contributions off the court over the years. Adding to that, Irving’s skills, undisputable and his ability to handle the ball and movement, are quite something that raises eyebrows. Before we delve into some of the eyebrow-raising stuff, let’s start with what we know for certain: Irving Kyrie is perhaps one of the most talented players of his generation in NBA history. And in recent years, he has been engaged in various activities.
Let’s dive in and tell you the decision we think you prefer. It is far from controversial that Kyrie’s gauntlet is going through. We’re outrightly saying that they are offensive and downright bizarre. They are as outlandish as they are concerning, and they are not related to basketball-related matters that Irving Kyrie has shared opinions about. Some of his opinions need to be crystal clear.
The Earth is Flat according to Kyrie Irving
Irving first claimed that the Earth is flat during his appearance on the podcast ‘Trippin’ Road’ in February of that year. If you didn’t know this before, we have the opportunity to tell you now. When he began promoting the long-debunked idea that the Earth is flat in 2017, Irving’s ideas about the world came under scrutiny. Although he has often been critical of the media, referring to journalists as “puppets” and “pawns” who are involved in a grand-scale effort to control public perception.
Irving stated, “It is directly in front of our faces.” Irving asserted, “I am informing you that it is directly in front of our faces. They deceive us. …There is no tangible information except for the information that they are providing us. They are specifically guiding you towards certain beliefs and discouraging others. The truth is readily available. You simply need to search for it. I have been searching for it for quite some time.” It did not end there, surprisingly. In September of that same year, Irving tried to pass off his claim as mere trolling of the public. However, just one month later, he reiterated that after conducting his own investigation, he had discovered “there was no authentic depiction of Earth.” It was not until October of 2018 when Irving finally resolved the issue by apologizing for failing to comprehend the impact his words had on young students, which subsequently compelled teachers to address the situation.
Vaccines for covid-19? Kyrie Irving wasn’t about that life
‘Why?’ Of course, is the question. The campaign in Brooklyn, which Kyrie missed the majority of, led to his refusal of the vaccine. If the players on the Knicks and Nets rosters were not vaccinated, they would not be able to participate in home games. This meant that anyone entering an arena, including entertainers and athletes, had to be vaccinated as mandated by the state of New York. Let’s simplify it without going into a detailed review of each step along the way: New York implemented a statewide mandate that resulted in significant loss of life, economic devastation, and ongoing psychological effects due to the global pandemic that occurred from late 2019 to 2021. It was truly a serious matter. And of course, when vaccines finally became available, governments and citizens alike faced challenges with lockdowns and mask mandates. In New York, the Kyrie Irving vaccination scandal unfolded.
Time is taken by you. We let one process that. Over the past week, virologists and workers, arena executives, Hall-of-Famers, and current players, among several others, have been interviewed for this story. According to multiple NBA locker rooms and group chats, the campaign of misinformation spread across Moderna’s microchip. This campaign claims that secret societies are implanting vaccines to connect Black people to a computer master plan orchestrated by Satan. Recently, Irving, who serves as the vice president of the executive committee of the players’ union, started liking and following Instagram posts from a conspiracy theorist who claims this. The Rolling Stone article sheds light once again on Irving’s apparent love affair with conspiracy theories, raising the question of whether he answers to shed light on it at this time.
Remember Alex Jones? Kyrie Irving certainly does
There is an organization called “Order of the New World” that has been historically tyrannical. Throughout history, there have been secret societies that manipulate and corrupt empires. One such theory, endorsed by Irving, is that the tragic mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012 was staged and that 27 lives were not actually lost. Alex Jones, a radio personality and podcaster, has gained notoriety for peddling conspiracy theories, some of which are offensive. It is easy to dismiss his conspiracy rhetoric, but closer examination of his ideas and rhetoric reveals their disturbing nature. In September of this year, Irving took a step back from his offensive and conspiracy-driven persona.
“It is true that in the late ’90s and early ’90s, Alex Jones, a prominent figure in secret societies and the occult in America, made a post on My post,” Irving stated. In the aftermath of the tragic event in which all the lives were lost, it would be dismissive to disregard the trauma that the parents or children of Sandy Hook had experienced or to ask them to relive it. Last year, in the wake of the civil suit brought against Alex Jones by the parents of the children killed at Sandy Hook, I did not align myself with Jones’ narrative position. It would not be fair to distance myself from Irving, given the case and the narrative position Alex Jones had at Sandy Hook.”
Antisemitism is a serious thing and Kyrie Irving needs to learn that
If you missed our coverage of the story last year, let me bring you up to speed. It all started when Irving, a star player for the Nets, posted a link to a controversial documentary that is widely regarded as antisemitic. This led to intense backlash, with the team releasing a joint statement along with Irving pledging $500K to the Antidefamation League. Irving finally stood firm and evasively answered questions about his views, only apologizing to NBA commissioner Adam Silver after expressing his disappointment. He acknowledged that he had caused harm, but did not actually apologize.
We’ll let you time your own process. I have a whole army around me. I’m not alone because I’m only going to get stronger. I’m not going down on anything that I believe in. Am I saying that I hate a specific group of people and going out? Did I harm anybody? Did I hurt anybody? Did I do anything illegal? Nah,” said Irving. “I’m not here to argue over what they believe or their religion or culture or a person.
What can we expect from Kyrie Irving’s move to the Dallas Mavericks?
Here’s the thing: It was only a few months ago that there were doubts as to whether Irving would play in the NBA again. But since then, he has gone about his business in a very productive way on the court. He has been a great all-around player with excellent ball handling skills, and he brings a cleverness to the game that is awe-inspiring. Playing alongside Slovenian prospect Luka Doncic in Dallas is a mouth-watering prospect, as they are both as good as it gets. There is no clear indication that Irving has a tendency for outlandish behavior, and he seems to really want to focus on taking the opportunity to play basketball and not let it slip away. It appears that he has a second lease on life in the NBA.
