All eyes on Joe Burrow. The highest-paid player will try to bounce back from his worst day as a pro

Only Puka Nacua (10) of the Los Angeles Rams had a greater number of receptions among NFL rookies. It will be intriguing to witness how the Bengals strategize for him, given that Zay Flowers, a rookie wide receiver, was aimed at 10 times in his first appearance and successfully completed nine receptions. He appeared to be the most formidable danger on an otherwise lackluster day for the Baltimore offense.

The player who earns the most money in the league, he agreed to a contract extension the day prior. Burrow managed to complete less than half of his passes for a total of 82 yards. Throughout the 24-3 defeat in Cleveland, he appeared to struggle while playing in the rain. Due to a strained calf muscle, he was absent for the majority of the training camp. The main concern now is how QB Joe Burrow will recover from the most terrible performance of his professional career. Keep an eye on this Bengals player.

The matchup between the Bengals’ defensive line and the Ravens’ running backs is a crucial one. The Browns, facing the Cincinnati defense, provided one of the only glimpses of positivity. On Sunday, J.K. Dobbins, the running back for Baltimore, unfortunately experienced a season-ending injury to his Achilles tendon. Gus Edwards and Justice Hill will now be relied upon by the Ravens, who managed to score two touchdowns in their 25-9 victory against Houston.

Key injuries for the Ravens in the season opener had Marlon Humphrey, the cornerback, sitting out after hurting his foot. Wilson Logan, Ossai Joseph, Chris Evans, and Cam Sample, who all had ankle injuries, were limited in practice. Ronnie Stanley and Tyler Linderbaum, with knee and ankle injuries respectively, were also limited. Marcus Williams, the safety, was hurt and missed more practice time.

With any alternate starting quarterback, the Ravens have a record of 0-4 — including postseason –. Since his entrance into the league, Baltimore’s quarterback Lamar Jackson has achieved a 6-1 record in seven starts against Cincinnati. The Bengals triumphed over the Ravens in all their matchups in 2021, as well as in two consecutive seasons (2019 and ’20). Both teams have experienced a streak of five consecutive victories in the series since then. The longest winning streak in this series was accomplished by the Ravens from 1998-2000, totaling six wins. On October 9, 2022, the Ravens emerged victorious over Baltimore with a score of 19-17. In January, the Bengals secured back-to-back victories against Baltimore in Cincinnati, first in the regular-season finale with a score of 27-16, and then in the wild-card round of the playoffs with a score of 24-17.

On December 26, 2021, Joe Burrow had one of his best days as a pro quarterback, breaking a Bengals record by passing for four touchdowns and 525 yards in Cincinnati’s 21-41 win against Baltimore. The Bengals are the only team in the NFL to have the same head coach and coordinators for each season, with Zac Taylor as the head coach, Darrin Simmons as the coordinator/special teams head assistant, and Lou Anarumo as the defensive coordinator. Brian Callahan serves as the offensive coordinator. Linebackers Nick Scott and Germaine Pratt had a combined 11 tackles. In the first half, Cincinnati punted 10 times, including on all seven of their first possessions. The Bengals struggled on fourth down conversions, failing to convert on their only attempt and converting only two out of 15 third downs in their previous game. Joe Mixon had 13 carries for 56 yards and caught three passes for 17 yards. Last season, Mixon had a combined 21 touchdowns and 2,837 yards. Tee Higgins had zero catches and was targeted eight times, while Tyler Boyd and Ja’Marr Chase had a combined 49 receiving yards. The Bengals’ first five games include three divisional road games against Baltimore. Matt Prater ranks second on the career NFL list for field goals of 50 yards or more, behind Sebastian Janikowski. Justin Tucker of Baltimore has the most on that list. Lamar Jackson is on track to become the fifth player in NFL history with 25 rushing and 100 passing touchdowns. Other quarterbacks who have accomplished this feat are Dak Prescott, Cam Newton, Daunte Culpepper, and Josh Allen. In the Ravens’ first game of the season, Patrick Queen and Roquan Smith each had at least 10 tackles and a sack.

If Burrow can get back on track, he is likely to have a good day translating that into catches for just 39 yards, which he had just had for the Rookie Offensive Player of the Year in 2021.
