Dental are currently helping FEP members receive care from their most trusted medical providers. In addition to these resources and benefits, the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP) is expanding eligibility for the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP). It has announced a decrease in premiums for vision and dental coverage.
FEP members who are eligible will still have the chance to earn rewards for qualified expenses with their MyBlue® Wellness Card. BCBS FEP Dental℠ benefits will be extended to children. Prenatal and postnatal support for members covered under FEP’s health plans will be improved.

FEP 2023 Highlights
Improved Prenatal and Postpartum Assistance.
All FEP pregnant members will be eligible to receive monitor blood pressure without any expense. Regular blood pressure monitoring can assist members in identifying potential early issues and providing necessary care. High blood pressure during pregnancy increases the risk of complications for both the child and mother.
In-network provider visits for postpartum depression and maternal mental health care will be covered out-of-pocket at no cost for FEP in 2023. Support for postnatal mental health is an important component of improving the health of children and women during the postpartum period.
Advantages of New Weight Management.
FEP will provide access to treatments that help reduce obesity for individuals eligible for bariatric surgery between the ages of 16 and 18. Prior approval and coverage for certain weight-loss medications will also be provided by FEP.
Enhanced International Coverage.
FEP will waive deductibles for health care services received internationally with FEP Blue Focus®. This adjustment will reduce the expenses paid by members.
With BCBS FEP Dental, FEP will provide coverage for international services at the in-network level for all members.
Improved Dental Benefits for Kids.
Children will have their Major (C), Intermediate (B), and Basic (A) Class dental services completely covered by the High Dental FEP BCBS Option when received from in-network providers.
Improved Visual Advantages.
The contact lens allowance for Standard Option members has been increased at MyEyeDr. Locations. Additionally, a $50 allowance for frames has been added for FEP members.
