CBB world reacts to LSU national anthem controversy

A view of the arena is seen during the national anthem prior to the game between the LSU Lady Tigers and the Iowa Hawkeyes

On Sunday, there was a bit of uncertainty regarding the performance of the country’s anthem prior to the commencement of the 2023 Women’s National Championship Game between the Iowa Hawkeyes and LSU Tigers.

When the national anthem started, the Iowa Hawkeyes were on the court but the LSU Tigers were nowhere in sight.

It’s unclear why Kim Mulkey’s team wasn’t out on the court beforehand.

Considering her other positions, it appears highly improbable that Kim Mulkey would permit her team to intentionally skip the performance of the anthem. Nevertheless, this generated a great deal of controversy and apprehension on social media due to previous instances of protests during the national anthem. Naturally.

That didn’t stop Twitter from freaking out over the fact that the Tigers were not present during the playing of the song.

“Why is Iowa on the court for the National Anthem but LSU isn’t?” Inquired Big Game Boomer.

Wasn’t present on the court for the national anthem??? Alright Iowa, defeat them,” stated Big Red Korner.

“Did anyone mention that LSU wasn’t present during the anthem? Because a few years back… Never mind,” Rachel Mobley remarked.

Geniuses on the board acknowledged the message, saying that the fan from LSU upset the team on the floor because the Iowa cheer number for the National Anthem was not present.

We have a feeling there’s going to be a pretty normal explanation for why LSU wasn’t on the court for the anthem.
