Karen Borta, an American journalist of American and Latino heritage, completed her Bachelor’s degree in journalism after attending UT Arlington for a few years. She has been employed by CBS for over twenty years. However, recently, she made the decision to resign as the CBS 11 News Anchor.
She has worked as a reporter and anchor for CBS affiliates KCEN-TV, KRBK-TV, and WTVT-TV. In addition, she has won a slew of other honors for her work, including the Castleberry J. Vivian Award from the Texas Press Association and the Women Journalists Association Awards.
The CBS Corporation owns and operates two subsidiary television stations in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. KTVT, a virtual channel 11, is a television station that serves the area and is owned and operated by CBS. Additionally, CBS also owns and operates KTXA, an independent television station licensed to Fort Worth, which operates on channel 21 as a digital UHF station.
CBS News operates both sales and advertising offices, as well as a secondary newsroom and studio, at its Dallas office. The primary studio facilities are shared by two stations, KTVT, and the CBS Tower on Coit Road and Central Expressway North. The offices are located east of downtown Fort Worth, off I-30, on Street Bridge.

An Anchor for CBS Station 11 Has Resigned!
After serving at CBS 11 DFW KTVT for the previous seven years, Karen Borta has chosen to retire.
I’m extremely thrilled. I will be working in a 9-to-5 environment for the first time in my life, and I am very happy about this change. “I am very pleased about this shift,” Borta wrote on Instagram, “these have been the most amazing years of my career.”
Borta and Ken Molestina will jointly host the station’s 11 am and 4 pm news broadcasts starting from Monday.

Borta’s household comprises of a male child and a pair of female children. In the year 1997, she welcomed her initial male child, Jake, and in the years 2000 and 2002, she gave birth to two female children, Katie and Kylie.

In their union, they have three offspring and Borta is joyfully wedded to Jim Bort. In their familial unit, three exceptional children exist.
While excelling in varsity volleyball, Kylie manages to maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA without allowing her diabetes to hinder her progress. Meanwhile, Jake and Katie are actively working towards their degrees at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
When she’s not fulfilling her role as a Volleyball Mom, Karen enjoys engaging in activities such as reading, playing tennis, and spending quality time with her family.

In January of this year, Borta became a part of the CBS 11 morning news team.
“I will finally be able to partake in some of the simple pleasures that many people take for granted, such as going to sporting events with my children midweek and having dinner with my family. This is because my three children are now in junior high and high school, as noted by Borta in 2015.”
Being a part of my children’s final years before they leave the nest means everything to me, so there will be no second chances for parents.
