Gable is correct, Hollywood definitely appeared to welcome the 6’2-6’4 rangers during the classic era. In the golden period, being 6’3 as an actor was still considered very tall but also quite common. There were significantly more instances of this in comparison to an average population.

During his prime, it is hard to dispute that Stewart was anything less than a sincere 6ft 3er. Although he may be 6ft 1, there is still a sense of Stewart being slightly under 6ft. He carries himself like someone who is larger than life, even appearing to be 6ft near or even taller at times. The debate about his height still persists.
Clark positioned Ashley Wilkes, who had the identical stature as 5 ft 10 Leslie Howard. Clark was more inclined to measure 5 ft 10 inches when he performed in Gone with the Wind. To begin with, I believe it is safe to state that C. Aubrey Smith was possibly closer to 6ft3 than 6ft2.
In the previous ones, when he played the initial characters, a solid 6’0″ would be the correct description. I wouldn’t say he was just medium-tall, but rather a giant. Gable never made me think he was tall. In the first half of the 20th century, being 6’0″ was considered tall. I mentioned on 20/Nov/14 that I estimate him as 6’0″ based on my assessment.

In the earlier 1960s, you might read a line like this on Celebheights, but it’s just a visitor’s opinion. It’s been said that Rock Hudson was described as being 4 feet 6 inches tall, but I’ve never heard of lifts being involved. This is the first time I’ve ever heard of it.
Gable did not possess the same level of greatness as individuals like Jimmy Stewart and Cary Grant. Although he was a competent actor and enjoyable to watch in certain films, I believe he was highly overrated and possessed one of the largest egos in classic Hollywood. I strongly disagree with the notion that Gable was the greatest star of all time, as expressed by Arch Stanton on 17/Mar/14.
James stated on December 27th, 2013 that he was an alcoholic and smoked almost 80 unfiltered cigarettes per day because Gable had the ability to win a physical altercation in reality.
On 26/Dec/13, LJM stated that if that is the standard, Gable may have been an inch, or possibly two inches, shorter than Jimmie Stewart or Coop, who were like string beans. However, when you see them standing next to each other, Gable is at least 6 feet tall and most likely even taller. What’s more, he is a solid rock with broad shoulders who could easily defeat these other guys in an instant if necessary. Gable’s sheer presence is the reason why he was considered the greatest among all the great stars, earning him the title of The King.

I don’t know whether the story is true or not. I’m just an ordinary mortal. Marvin told the interviewer that Clark Gable was a star, and I think he was being modest about himself. Gable was very well-built and had broad shoulders, but Marvin was shorter than him. Supposedly, the jacket’s sleeves came down to Marvin’s knees. In a biography I read on Marvin Lee, an anonymous person mentioned that Marvin tried on a jacket that Gable wore in a movie when he was a young actor.

On April 23rd, Frank was looking at a photo of Montgomery and Gable. Gable was standing erect and Montgomery was slouching, making Gable appear taller. Montgomery was about 5’11.5″ while Gable was slightly taller or about the same height. Gable had purposely tried to make himself look shorter by slouching, and Montgomery appeared to be about 5’7″ when he stood up straight. It was obvious that Gable was wearing lifts and he was actually 5’8″ tall. In San Francisco, Gable wore a torn outfit in the aftermath of the earthquake. Montgomery was wearing his outfit for his role in “Two for Trouble”. He appeared to be seeking revenge on those who had wronged him in the past, as he was dressed in a costume from the film “Doll Devil” and was using poisonous needles to kill living dolls that he had hypnotized. He would hide the dolls in women’s clothing while seeking his revenge. In “The Good Earth”, Muni Paul was also dressed in a costume for his role. All of these events took place around 1936.

I had no idea that he was sickly and frail until my father told me at the time. He looked very sickly and frail. I was having lunch with my dad at the famous Derby Brown in Beverly Hills, seated across from Bogie and another group of people.
