Discover dinosaur tracks

It’s simple to locate dinosaur footprints in the park – simply make your way towards the river!

  • The visibility of dinosaur tracks and the status of the trail are monitored prior to our visit to the park. Please contact us through Twitter or Facebook page for current updates. The trails may be closed due to wet weather conditions. It should be noted that dinosaur tracks are not always visible and can be found in the riverbed.
  • Get maps on your GPS-enabled smartphone from our Mapping Dinosaur Tracks page.
  • Discover further information on our Nature page.
  • Explore the park virtually through the website of the Friends of Dinosaur Valley State Park.
  • Ride your horse

Horses can drink from the river; however, the water is not potable. Remember to bring your own bucket. The river runs through a partially rocky and wooded section of the park. Feel free to bring your own horse and explore the 100-acre primitive area in the South.
