Introducing another scrumptious pork dish in collaboration with the Ohio Pork Council, and I am thrilled about this one!

I often go for meals that require few dishes, so I frequently use my sheet pan and Dutch oven. I really dislike doing dishes.

  • The cooking method that allows for the juiciest pork tenderloin is to steam and heat it in a dutch oven, which also keeps it moist. One of the ideal ways to cook this cut of meat is by searing it and then cooking it in the pot. As a result, the pork tenderloin turns out tender and juicy.
  • I always win everyone over with a delicious meal that requires only one pot to cook, resulting in less mess and fewer dishes. Since I hate doing dishes, my heart is always set on winning meals made in a sheet pan or one pot. That’s always a hit for me!
  • Pork is a great way to get some lean protein! Pork tenderloin is actually as lean as chicken breast. Our family loves having a variety of meals and we love it as part of our diet to get that protein.
  • Recipe Ingredients:

The Dutch oven pork tenderloin alone consists of just a few ingredients, while the honey garlic glaze calls for some essential pantry items!

  • They will cook differently. The pork loin is wide and short, while the pork tenderloin is thin and long. It is important to note that there are many different cuts of meat. To clarify, the cut you should choose is the tenderloin pork.
  • If you don’t have olive oil, you could try using another cooking oil for your pork tenderloin searing, such as a nice olive oil.
  • Depending on the available ingredients, I typically use around 5-8 carrots. While incorporating them, I usually opt for a generous amount as I thoroughly enjoy cooked carrots.
  • I frequently utilize red potatoes for this honey garlic pork dish. Once cooked, they will remain intact and only need minimal preparation, which makes petite or fingerling potatoes perfect for the recipe.
  • Onion: your preferred choice will suffice, I frequently utilize yellow onions.
  • Chicken stock: broth or stock will suffice. I personally prefer stock in this recipe, but use whatever you have available.
  • Here is the list of ingredients for the spice rub: Italian seasoning, paprika, and garlic powder. If you don’t have Italian seasoning available, you can easily mix the other ingredients together.
  • If preferred, you can use fresh garlic for the rub as well. For the honey garlic glaze, minced fresh garlic is ideal.
  • Honey: the star of the show in the honey glaze. You could use maple syrup if you don’t have honey on hand.
  • Definitely, the intensity of taste may not be exactly identical, but that’s fine, in case you don’t possess any available, I truly adore the taste that Worcestershire sauce imparts to this pork recipe cooked in a dutch oven.
  • Low sodium soy sauce is recommended, and for those who are gluten-free, tamari can be used as an alternative.
  • Apple cider vinegar: if you do not possess apple cider vinegar, white or red wine vinegar are excellent alternatives as well.
  • When salting the pork tenderloin, be sure to generously season it with pepper and salt according to your preference.
  • Carrots, potatoes, pork tenderloin and other ingredients labeled for recipe.

    Pork Tenderloin Versus Pork Loin:

“Tenderloin” indicates that when you are certain about the meat you are getting, it refers to different cuts of pork loin and pork tenderloin.

Slowly roasted or well grilled, pork loin is typically a larger, wide cut. It is cooked until roasted and then seared at high heat, which gives it a great flavor. A thin and long cut of pork is the Tenderloin.

Please make sure to confirm that you have the correct cut when cooking this pork tenderloin in a dutch oven, as these items cannot be substituted.

    Step-By-Step Instructions:

Begin by preheating the oven to 400°F. Combine the honey glaze components and set them aside.

(Step 1) Take off the silver membrane from the pork as the oven warms up. Coat all surfaces of the pork tenderloins with the salt, pepper, Italian herbs, paprika, and garlic powder, then mix them thoroughly.

Heat the olive oil in a deep oven-safe Dutch oven over medium heat. Brown the pork tenderloin on all sides for 1-2 minutes to sear it, then add it to the pot to cook. If you don’t have a skillet with a lid, you can also use the oven-safe Dutch oven with a lid.

Seasoned pork tenderloin on sheet pan and then seared in pot.

(Step 4) Remove the pork from the Dutch oven and set it aside temporarily. Scrape off any pieces stuck to the bottom of the pot and pour the broth into the pot.

Add in the onion and cook for 2- 3 minutes. Stir in the carrots and potatoes and stir to combine. (Steps 5-6).

Broth in pan and then onions and carrots added.

Arrange the pork tenderloins on top of the veggies.

Whisk and then brush the honey garlic glaze on top of the pork. Pour any remaining glaze over the veggies. (Steps 7-9).

Cover the pot with the lid and place it in the oven that has been preheated.

The temperature inside the pork reaches 145°F, cook the vegetables and pork for approximately 25-35 minutes. The cooking time will vary depending on the size of your pork.

Continue cooking the vegetables for approximately 10 more minutes, or until they are easily pierced with a fork and check for their softness. Take the pork out of the pot and let it rest, covered in foil, once it reaches a temperature of 145°F.

Once everything is cooked, cut the pork and serve it alongside the carrots and potatoes with additional juices.

Why Use a Dutch Oven to Cook Your Pork Tenderloin?

I have so many things cooking for great taste, and a lot of heat is retained. It is easy to clean, but it is made of cast iron. My kitchen must have one Dutch oven.

The lid allows for even cooking of the meat and vegetables in the pot. This recipe for pork tenderloin with garlic and honey allows the pork to be easily seared, and then transferred to the oven dutch to be cooked.

One meal also implies reduced clutter!
