The show’s first half closed with an extraordinary 22-minute version of Stevie Nicks’ “World Turning.,” which also included two vintage Peter Green songs – “Stations of the Cross” and “Number One.” The band performed these songs alongside recent tracks from their LP, with both the US and UK radio broadcasts being recorded live at Manchester’s Maine Road Stadium, where the band also played a sold-out show. Although both Nicks and Christine McVie stated that this would be their last tour with Fleetwood Mac, they decided to join the band on stage for the final show in Los Angeles. The subsequent “Behind the Mask” tour saw the band play sold-out shows at London’s Wembley Stadium, which received mixed reviews. Despite entering the UK Album Chart at No. 1 and peaking at No. 18 on the US Billboard chart, “Behind the Mask” achieved Gold status. The album, released in 1990, showcased a more contemporary adult style developed during Lindsey Buckingham’s tenure with the band, veering away from their stylized sound.
