A man from Florida was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for attempting to entice a child for sex, according to the Department of Justice.

Frederick M Pohl, Jr., 41, from Clermont, was apprehended in Orlando at a hotel, wearing a pink dress and carrying condoms. This occurred after he had engaged in ongoing discussions with an undercover federal agent in Detroit, during which he expressed his intention to sexually assault an 8-year-old girl.

An agent from Homeland Security had actually been in contact with the father and child for months, but he assumed the communication online during which he allegedly sent 6 lewd photos of himself. Pohl, who pled guilty to the charges on August 6th, is the one responsible.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Pohl expressed during their initial conversation which started around March 11, “I have an attraction towards younger females… I would be interested in someone who is the same age as your daughter.”

During his time at an unnamed amusement park in Orlando, Pohl had been working as an employee in Tomorrowland at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, where he was listed as belonging to the page “Appearing Pohl” on Facebook. He was responsible for securing the lap bars on rides for both adults and children.

According to the Department of Justice, there was no known occurrence of wrongdoing while Pohl was employed at the park. The park wholeheartedly collaborated with law enforcement during their inquiry and he was promptly terminated following his arrest.

Special Assistant Orlando HSI Agent David J. Pezzutti stated that the child predator has been apprehended and will be held responsible for his crimes. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and special HSI agents in Orlando and Detroit are owed gratitude for their efforts.

As per the publication, Pohl alleged that he mistreated minors aged 15 and below in the virtual conversations. Authorities observed his purchase of condoms at a nearby Walgreens before he proceeded to Walmart during his visit to the Orlando hotel — where he acquired a “lovely pink dress adorned with hearts.”

Upon arrival, he was apprehended by agents from Detroit and Orlando.

According to the Department of Justice, Project Safe Childhood was launched in 2006 as an initiative to combat child sex exploitation and abuse.

Pohl was allegedly engaged in a comparable undertaking twelve years prior.

As per the Orlando Sentinel, legal documents indicate that Pohl discussed the idea of visiting her before supposedly retracting his statement, confessing that he had deceived and expressed remorse for his actions. In 2007, he was observed engaging in an online conversation with an undercover agent who pretended to be a 13-year-old girl from Canada.

He is currently detained in the Marion County Detention Center.
