FMIA: Rodgers gets serious with Jets and more from Peter King’s training camp tour

This was not boring. After practice, I sat in a chair and found it more interesting. There were interesting scenes from the field. I am here, focused solely on Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback for the New York Jets. I figured that this would be the best place to start, as he is the most compelling figure in the league for the 40th season.

Me: Departing from Green Bay–did you have a sensation of desiring a modification in the surrounding landscape?

Rodgers: “Oh, I’m unsure. I mean, I desired to retire. That’s the direction I was inclined towards.”

Me: You mentioned that there was a 90-percent probability of your retirement, but then you did not.

I think I’m going to change my mind about retirement. Yes, the answer is that a change is needed. No, probably not. So, yeah, I think the answer is yes: Rodgers.

Me: What occurred?

I thought that the best option for me was the opportunity where I still wanted to play and felt really good about. I got back into my workouts and meditated on it, thinking about it more. I strongly considered the opportunity and really felt like I wanted to be involved with the Jets. When I met with everyone, it was a good time for everybody. I don’t think it’s their fault that they were leaning in a different direction. I realized that the direction that Green Bay was leaning towards was definitely the right one. And if I wanted to hear a pitch from another team, at least I was open to it. But if Green Bay was open and leaning towards me coming back, then that’s where I wanted to lean into. After a lot of contemplation, I came to the decision and went into my retreat in darkness. Basically, Rodgers

Me: Complete darkness? For three consecutive days?

Rodgers: “Four nights, five days. Yeah, certainly complete obscurity.”

Me: Strange inquiry, but how did you acquire your nourishment?

“I removed it from the interior, then he shut the door. It was placed on one side. There’s a small dual-purpose container,” – Rodgers.

What really happened there? It was a fun-filled retreat where people made fun and mocked a gigantic object of darkness. Do you know that?

Dreamed about playing football, I realized that I needed a break to truly contemplate my life. In the midst of our busy lives, we often don’t take the time to reflect. I feel most at my best when I am vulnerable and open about the things that matter to me. Instead of focusing on the negative comments from those who may have said derogatory things about my experiences, I choose to surround myself with curious and non-judgmental individuals. I believe there are many people out there who are willing to listen and understand, without passing judgment. Listen to what Rodgers has to say about the things I’ve discussed without being judgmental.
