A comprehensive investigation for Fletcher is still underway and her family has offered a $50,000 incentive for any details that can assist in finding her.

The Memphis Police Department announced via Twitter early Sunday that 38-year-old Cleotha Abston has been charged with particularly aggravated abduction and tampering with proof in the instance of the absent preschool instructor.

Police said that Abston was detained on Saturday evening after they found him inside an SUV, which they were searching in connection with the abduction.

As per the sworn statement, Abston was living in the same location where the SUV is officially listed and in the vicinity of a woman’s residence when Abston was apprehended. The complaint’s affidavit, which was released to the public on Sunday by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and obtained by ABC News, stated.

Abston allegedly attempted to flee in the SUV, but was apprehended by a team of U.S. Marshals who were able to take him into custody, as stated in the affidavit.

As per the sworn statement, law enforcement reached out to Aston’s sibling and another observer earlier in the day on Saturday. Both asserted that the alleged perpetrator arrived at their residence at approximately 7:50 a.M. On Friday. They witnessed him tidying the interior of the sports utility vehicle, laundering his garments in a basin, and displaying peculiar behavior.

As per the sworn statement, authorities believe that Fletcher, a 34-year-old individual, experienced “severe harm” while being forcefully taken. The affidavit states that Abston, employed at a laundry service, declined to disclose any information regarding Fletcher’s location when questioned by investigators.

Mario Abston, who is said to be the brother of 36-year-old Abston and is currently not suspected of being involved in the kidnapping, was apprehended by the police on charges related to drugs and firearms.

According to the police, her kidnapping is currently in progress. The search for her abduction is still ongoing, and the authorities, in collaboration with their local and federal counterparts, have stated that Fletcher is still unaccounted for.

The authorities stated that the sports utility vehicle departed, heading in the direction of the west on Central Avenue. As per the authorities, Fletcher was accosted by an individual and coerced into a GMC Terrain of a dark hue before she was last observed running in the vicinity of Central Avenue and Zach Curlin Street in midtown Memphis, close to the University of Memphis campus in southwest Tennessee, on Friday morning at around 4:20 a.M. Local time.

As per the police statement, Richard Fletcher, the husband of Fletcher, notified the authorities at approximately 7 a.M. On Friday, stating that she did not come back home after her usual 4 a.M. Run.

As per the sworn statement, it is claimed that Cleotha Abston’s DNA is supposedly present in the sandals, which underwent testing at the laboratory of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. The sworn statement asserts that a person riding a bicycle discovered a mobile phone owned by Eliza Fletcher on the road, along with a set of Champion slides sandals, in the vicinity of Central Avenue at approximately 6:45 a.M. On Friday.

According to the affidavit, the black GMC Terrain first passed Fletcher while she was jogging, then stopped in a nearby parking lot and waited for her to approach. The security video, as stated in the affidavit, revealed that the investigators also visited the area where the cyclist discovered Fletcher’s cellphone and sandals. They obtained surveillance footage from a nearby business which allegedly recorded the kidnapping.

A male exited the black GMC Terrain aggressively and then forced Eliza Fletcher, the victim, into the passenger side of the vehicle during this abduction, indicating that there seemed to be a struggle.

Based on the sworn statement, investigators stated that the SUV departed before it parked in a lot with the victim aboard for approximately four minutes, referring to the footage.

According to authorities, Fletcher stands at a height of 5 feet, 6 inches, weighs 137 pounds, possesses brown hair and green eyes, and was dressed in a pink athletic shirt and purple athletic shorts during the time she was taken against her will.

According to the sworn statement, detectives acquired his mobile number from his employer and discovered that Abston was employed at a laundry service. Detectives also ascertained that the sports utility vehicle was owned by a lady with whom Abston resided, after verifying Abston’s genetic material on the sandals abandoned at the location of the abduction.

According to the affidavit, when the abduction occurred, investigators determined through an analysis of the cellphone that it was in the vicinity.

According to the sworn statement, authorities acquired surveillance footage from a nearby cinema, which displayed Abston’s presence on Thursday donning a set of Champion slip-on footwear while examining Abston’s location prior to and following the abduction.

In a statement on social media, Fletcher, the beloved kindergarten junior teacher at St. Mary’s Episcopal School in Memphis, said that all the school prep girls are.
