House hearing erupts after Republican slams Rep. Eric Swalwell over ties to Chinese spy: ‘Don’t say that s–t’

During a House hearing on Wednesday, tempers flared after a Republican lawmaker accused Eric Swalwell, a Democrat, of having suspected ties to a Chinese spy, leading to backlash.

Following Swalwell’s (D-Calif.) Utilization of his allotted time to question border security supporter Sheena Rodriguez regarding her whereabouts on the Capitol premises during the riot on January 6, 2021, the Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security and Enforcement hearing became contentious.

During Swalwell’s grilling of a Republican lawmaker witness, there was a point at which the expired time continued and he declined, but the lawmaker asked him to yield.

That’s when Representative Troy Nehls (R-Texas) intervened.

Rodriguez told Nehls that she had witnessed more than three dozen visits to the US-Mexico border, and she wanted to testify about the exploitation of migrant children at the hearing. “I don’t want Democrats to talk about a border,” she said. “You’re here for a hearing on the border, so I apologize if you had that impression.”

“Mr. Swalwell is down there, evidently everyone knows he has made some remarks,” Nehls continued.

“He has a questionable history. His supposed connection -“

“I apologize, a questionable history?” Swalwell interrupted.

“This is my moment!” Nehls replied. “Reported infidelities — association — with Yum-Yum.”

“No, no, no, no, no,” exclaimed Swalwell.

“You don’t have the right to say that stuff. That’s not accurate.”

“He had purported connections with Yum-Yum,” Nehls continued, “and now he’s infuriated.”

Nehls, also known as Fang-Fang and purportedly referring to her as “Fang-Fang,” allegedly spent the next four years wooing lawmakers as a college student who entered the US in 2011, with the intention of getting close to sensitive government intelligence.

The alleged affair of Swalwell cost the House Intelligence Committee his place on the primary national security and oversight missions, severely undermining the fellow Democrat Adam Schiff from California and Hakeem Jeffries, the Minority Leader (D-NY), leaving our nation less safe. This happened earlier this year, with Kevin McCarthy, the Speaker, and Schiff.

The Republican’s comments should be stricken from the record, as Swalwell and Nehls bickered Wednesday, Subcommittee ranking member Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) Called.

Jayapal informed Chairman Tom McClintock (R-Calif.) That it was an explicit insult towards a member of this committee, which is not tolerable, causing the chairman to recess the committee for two minutes in order to “refer to the previous cases.”

Nehls agreed to rephrase his statement when the hearing resumed, without offering an apology. However, he did acknowledge that the individual in question had been previously expelled from the Intelligence Committee, where he had formerly held a position.

The debacle took place after a week, sidetracking Marjorie Taylor Greene, Rep. Swalwell, and the Homeland Security Committee of the House, saying that Swalwell had a sexual relationship with a Chinese spy, knowing everyone.

On Wednesday, one of Rep. Daniel Goldman’s fellow Democrats, from Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan, moved to strike it from the record.

However, in Greene’s situation, Republicans on the committee refused to remove or modify her statement.
