We are one of the few clinics that can accept insurance for ketamine therapy. Obtaining insurance coverage for ketamine treatment can be complex, so our team is dedicated to simplifying the process.
If your insurance plan is in-network with Centers Wellness Ketamine, the company will directly work to determine your eligibility for coverage. However, if your insurance plan is out-of-network, we can still help you take steps to pursue reimbursement.
Get Help from our Insurance Specialists
Our team understands that seeking insurance can feel overwhelming, even before navigating the majority of the process. Our specialists can make the road to easier treatment for you by helping you navigate the insurance process.

Obtain Prior Authorization
Our team will handle this for you if your insurance plan is in connection with KWC. Before you are deemed eligible, your insurance provider might necessitate a prior authorization request. Although it doesn’t ensure coverage, acquiring prior authorization is a crucial measure in qualifying your treatment for reimbursement.
Work With Your Medical Provider
Before commencing treatment, your care team will require details regarding your medical background. With your permission, we can reach out to your healthcare provider to collect information such as medical records and referrals, eliminating the need for you to acquire these documents personally.
Provide a Superbill
The bill includes individual components such as the office consultation, monitoring devices, and the medication. Your insurance may cover other elements of your treatment, even if ketamine is not included. The expenses for your treatment are itemized.
Some of our patients have received automatic reimbursement for a portion of their treatment expense by submitting the superbill to their insurance company. Even if your plan is not in-network, you might still receive some reimbursement after submitting a superbill.
We are here to answer your inquiries and assist you in determining the most suitable plan of action for your healthcare. We remain accessible during the entire procedure. Within a short span of 48 hours, decisions regarding your insurance coverage can be reached once we have established communication with your insurance company.
Understanding Insurance Terms
The estimated cost of ketamine therapy is contingent upon various factors of your insurance plan, including whether you are in-network, if prior authorization is necessary, and your required copay. Once our team completes the processing of your insurance, you will be provided with a comprehensive email from KWC, outlining your estimated cost based on these specific aspects.

In-Network versus
Ketamine Wellness Centers, a company that has partnerships with specific health insurance companies, provides treatment coverage to qualified patients, with the insurance companies bearing a portion of the expenses related to ketamine treatments.
Prior Authorization.
If a healthcare provider submits a request for coverage before providing treatment, it means that the patient will only receive insurance coverage for the treatment or procedure if prior authorization is obtained.
Superbill.
Offering extra treatment discounts may result in sending a superbill to your insurance provider. You might qualify for additional medication, medical supervision, and compensation for your office consultation, even if your insurance does not include ketamine therapy. The charges on your invoice are itemized in a list known as your superbill.
Out-of-Pocket Maximum.
For example, if your health insurance company covers healthcare expenses, you will have to pay for all covered healthcare services for the rest of the year after you have spent $8,000. The maximum amount of money you will be required to pay for covered medical services is determined by your insurance company each year.
Copay.
The amount you owe for visits to specialty doctors like lab tests and prescriptions will be determined by your insurance coverage. Your insurance will cover the fixed amount for medical services, such as doctor visits, and this is known as your copay or copayment.
Treatment Options at Ketamine Wellness Centers
Our clinics provide both nasal spray and infusions as treatment options for ketamine therapy. Your eligibility for insurance coverage depends on factors like your medical history, diagnosis, and insurance plan. While other options may not be covered, you may find that one of these options is eligible for coverage on a case-by-case basis.
Ketamine Infusions
KWC has partnered with several insurance companies to offer discounted rates to eligible patients. However, many ketamine clinics cannot accept insurance while IV infusions are the most common form of ketamine therapy.
KWC offers ketamine infusions for both chronic pain and mental health conditions. Insurance companies typically offer different levels of coverage for different conditions. Patients with chronic pain, such as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome or migraines, often require medical pain diagnosis and treatment, such as fibromyalgia. For patients’ mental well-being, treatments such as psychotherapy and medication have not proven to be effective, indicating the need for other demonstrated treatments.
SpravatoⓇ Nasal Spray
Spravato, which is an FDA-approved form of ketamine (esketamine), is specifically developed for the purpose of treating depression, particularly treatment-resistant depression. It is highly likely that it will be covered for infusions more extensively due to this reason.
If you have been prescribed two or more antidepressants without finding sufficient relief, and if you meet the criteria for a diagnosis of treatment-resistant depression (TRD), you may need to talk to your healthcare provider about Spravato, a treatment option for TRD.

At KWC, we believe that the cost of wellness shouldn’t be a barrier, so we have successfully managed to find reimbursement for treatment for many of our patients, even after being told that insurance is unlikely to cover anything.
