TikTok has become one of the most popular social media platforms in recent years, where users from all over the world have amassed a large following, and can share funny and innovative short-form videos.
Many TikTok users enjoy sharing videos with their followers and friends, while some prefer to remain anonymous on the platform and don’t want to associate their faces with their TikTok accounts. However, the app doesn’t really offer any options for users who don’t want a profile picture.
Fortunately, there is a workaround that you can use if you want to keep your identity hidden on TikTok. Although you have to download a blank profile picture, you can upload it as an alternative image on the app, which completely covers the lens of the camera, allowing you to take a pitch-black picture.
How to change your TikTok profile pic on mobile
1. Launch your TikTok application and sign in to your account.
2. After you have reached the Home page, select the Profile icon located at the bottom right corner of the screen.
The Edit Profile button located beneath the sections for the profile image and additional profile information, such as Following, Followers, and Likes count, should be visible to you.
When you choose to view a photo, select from the gallery, or take a photo, you will be presented with three options: the ability to change the photo tab, or tap on the Edit Profile page in the 4th tab.
By utilizing the Take photo feature, the application will activate your camera, allowing you to capture a completely dark picture by obscuring the lens, thereby eliminating your profile image. Subsequently, you can upload this empty image and employ it as your display picture when choosing the Select from Gallery option.
6. Validate your selection and you should observe your updated profile image.

1. Visit tiktok.Com and sign in to your account.
2. Hover over the avatar located at the top right corner and select View profile.
3. Select Edit profile and the edit icon to modify your profile picture.
4. Upload the empty picture you wish to utilize.
