‘I will never be the same’: Elvis Presley’s grandson Benjamin Keough mourned on birthday

Lisa Marie Presley is paying tribute to her son Benjamin Keough on the occasion of his 28th birthday.

Keough tragically took his own life on July 12 at the young age of 27. He was widely recognized for his striking similarity to his iconic grandfather, the renowned musician Elvis Presley.

In a Wednesday Instagram post, Lisa Marie Presley expressed the anguish of losing her son.

“I will never be identical,” she penned. “Every instant of each day, lacking you, the profundity of the agony is stifling and unfathomable. My cardiac organ and essence departed with you. On this planet and currently in Paradise, I adored the territory you traversed upon.” She inscribed, “My exquisite exquisite celestial being.”

“You were far too excellent for this world, my dear Boy. Joyful Birthday. I am aware that you would desire that. To remain here for Riley and to safeguard and nurture your younger sisters, I remain and grasp my hand. Kindly await my arrival, my affection,” she persisted.

The son of Lisa Marie Presley and her ex-husband, the singer-songwriter Danny Keough, was Keough. The former couple also had a daughter named Riley Keough, who is now 31 years old. Lisa Marie Presley was also previously married to guitarist Michael Lockwood from 2006 to 2016, and they have twin daughters named Harper and Finley, who are currently 12 years old.

Riley Keough also shared about her brother on Wednesday, posting an Instagram collection of the siblings throughout the years.

“Happy Birthday lovely cherub,” she penned.

Musician Trev Lukather also shared a tribute on Instagram, expressing that he misses Keough every single day.

He penned, “The departure of Ben was undoubtedly the most significant setback I have ever encountered.” “It simply demonstrates the delicacy of life and the gratitude one should possess towards all their beloved, genuine, and intimate companions.”

Lukather also encouraged individuals to “respond to the message, phone call, or simply make contact.”.

He continued, “You never even know what is closest to you, do you?” So, just keep looking out for us, and then we’ll hang out again one day.

According to an official Facebook post from the Graceland estate, Keough, Elvis Presley’s famous grandfather, was laid to rest in the meditation area of the Rest Garden property on October 1st.

Presley Mae Minnie’s great-great-grandmother and Presley Vernon’s great-grandfather, as well as Presley Gladys’ great-grandmother, are also laid to rest in Tennessee. Their final resting place is Graceland, located in Memphis.

Lisa Marie Presley’s manager, Roger Widynowski, verified the passing of her son in a statement to USA TODAY in July: “She is utterly shattered, unable to find comfort and extremely devastated but making an effort to remain resilient for her (twins) and her eldest daughter Riley. She genuinely cherished that young man. He was the absolute love of her existence.”

Benjamin Keough, the grandson of Elvis Presley, was laid to rest at Graceland, alongside the legendary King of Rock and Roll.

“I Adore You Because” Presley’s 1954 success, a music video reimagining, showcased Keough and his siblings in 2012. The two acquired matching Celtic everlasting knot tattoos on Mother’s Day three years earlier, she disclosed on Twitter in 2012. Keough had a unique connection with Lisa Marie Presley.

People were amazed by Keough’s similarity to Presley when Lisa Marie Presley disclosed to CMT in October 2012 that he was backstage at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry. “He was present at the Opry and had a calm yet powerful presence behind the scenes!” She exclaimed. “Everyone turned their heads and stared when he was there. Everyone wanted to take a picture with him because the resemblance is simply remarkable. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed when I see him.”

Lisa Marie Presley is profoundly saddened by the loss of her son Benjamin Keough, who was the grandson of Elvis Presley, at the young age of 27.
