Fox News Channel announced on Monday that Jesse Watters will be hosting an opinion show in the time slot formerly occupied by Tucker Carlson.
After approximately two months, Fox News fired Carlson following the announcement. Shortly after settling a defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems, the maker of the voting machine, for a staggering $787.5 million, Carlson was let go by Fox News. The network exposed a trove of private messages between hosts, including Carlson and Hannity, in which they criticized their peers. This case centered around false claims aired on the network regarding the 2020 presidential election.
Carlson’s departure from Fox’s primetime lineup after a decline in ratings has sparked controversy. However, he has denied the accusation of promoting white supremacy that critics have labeled him with. It is worth noting that he himself has acknowledged the fact that immigrants, who were born here, are admitted to the U.S. This idea has drawn controversy due to theories supporting the notion that people can be “replaced.” Carlson, who was the top-rated host on Fox, faced this controversy before his ouster last month.
“Jesse Watters Primetime” will be shifting its time slot from 7 to 8 EDT as part of a restructured weekly nighttime lineup on Fox News, taking place on July 17. Laura Ingraham’s show will be taking over the 7 o’clock slot, moving from its original time of 10. “Sean Hannity” will continue to air at 9. Greg Gutfeld’s show will move up by an hour, now airing at 10, while a news show called “@Fox News @ Night” featuring Trace Gallagher will be broadcasted at 11.
Opinion: Dismissing Tucker Carlson from Fox won’t alter what viewers desire. Can the media regain their loyalty?
Watters will remain a co-presenter on “The Five,” an evening panel discussion show that is among the network’s most well-liked programs.
Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott stated that the distinct viewpoints of Laura Ingraham, Jesse Watters, Sean Hannity, and Greg Gutfeld will guarantee that our audience can enjoy unparalleled news coverage from our top-notch team for many years to come.

For a limited time, the 8 p.M. EDT time slot was occupied by a temporary program featuring alternating Fox News personalities, according to Fox. Carlson’s most recent hosting responsibility for his conservative opinion show “Tucker Carlson Tonight” was in April.
Since his departure, Carlson has since moved his show to Twitter, although Fox is attempting to get him to stop the broadcasts.
