Tasty Glazed DonutsPreparation Time: 1 hour and 45 minutesCooking Time: 15 minutesTotal Time: 2 hoursServing Size: 18 donuts.

Ingredients

Dough.

Shortening is used for frying. Use 1/2 cup of softened unsalted butter and 1 teaspoon of salt. Use 5 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour. Use 3 large eggs and 1/3 cup of granulated sugar. Use 1/2 cup of warm milk and 1/4 cup of lukewarm water. Use 1 packet of dry active yeast.

Glaze.

3 cups confectioners’ sugar, 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla essence, 3-5 tablespoons of milk, 1 teaspoon of vanilla.

Instructions

Dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water in a large mixing bowl. When bubbles begin to form in the yeast mixture, stir in the milk and eggs. Cut the butter into the mixture. Gradually add flour and salt, scraping the sides as you stir. When the dough forms, turn it onto a floured surface. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour. Knead the dough until it becomes smooth. Place it in a greased bowl and cover. Let the dough rise in a warm place.

Rest for 10-15 minutes. Allow the dough to cover and divide it in half. Knead it on a floured surface until it turns into a double-sized dough.

In a petite bowl, combine glaze components. Include sufficient milk to form a delicate, pourable glaze.

Place a layer of parchment on a baking sheet.

The size of the rise doubled until the donuts were allowed to cover the baking sheet. Cut out the donuts and dust them with flour using a donut cutter. Roll the dough to a thickness of about 1/2 inch and turn it half-way on a floured surface.

Position a cooling rack on the surface of a baking sheet. Heat up culinary oil in a deep-fryer or sizable pot to a degree ranging from 350-375°F.

Place them on the cooling rack, remove doughnuts using a slotted spoon. 1-2 minutes per side, drop donuts into the hot oil.

Drizzle icing on the top of the doughnuts while the donuts are warm but slightly cooled.
