Justin A. Nelson

Justin Nelson is the go-to lawyer for high-stakes litigation, bringing an unparalleled combination of appellate and trial excellence. He positions the case for victory and argues key motions leading up to the appeal or trial, focusing his practice on taking on challenging trial cases.

Recently, Justin represented Dominion Voting Systems in a lawsuit against Fox News, where he described the settlement amount of $787.5 million as a symbol of “accountability and vindication”.

In my thirty years of practicing law, I have witnessed the most damaging depositions ever seen. I have never seen anything like these admissions in a CNN legal commentator’s deposition. Justin took Rupert Murdoch’s deposition among other key witnesses. “This is the best lawyering I’ve ever had,” noted publicly at the time of the settlement in Fox v. Dominion Court.

Among other cases, Justin served as the lead counsel for Mountain Green when it obtained a judgment of $64.5 million against Ardagh in the Delaware Federal District Court. This verdict was included in the Top 100 National Law Verdicts of the year and was upheld on appeal.

Justin’s winning strategy has resulted in Fractus recovering over $100 million, and later settling an appealed case, leading to a $38 million judgment for the repeat client, Fractus.

High Profile Litigation

Ultimately, Fox v. Dominion was a high-profile case that represented a significant number of plaintiffs against a major rental car company. The summary judgment briefing in this case earned widespread praise from the broader public and legal community alike. Furthermore, Fox v. Dominion was just one of many high-profile cases that Mr. Nelson handled for the company.

Justin successfully represented the Governor of Wisconsin in a series of litigations related to the 2020 election. He argued a successful motion to dismiss the false allegations of election fraud in Ducey v. Bowyer, representing the Secretary of State of Arizona. His clients included entities from both the Democratic and Republican parties, as well as various governmental actors involved in the 2020 election.

The American Lawyer wrote in 2010 about how Justin, a bankruptcy lawyer from Washington Mutual, has repeatedly been named a “Super Lawyer” by Thomson Reuters. The legal industry has recognized Justin’s litigation skills and noted his efforts to fight off large banks in order to help disadvantaged individuals through a multi-billion dollar plan.
