Los Angeles authorities disclosed disturbing additional information about Kobe Bryant’s helicopter accident during the court hearing on Thursday. They stated that the arm of the NBA icon was severed, and there were “fragments of flesh suspended from the trees” at the crash site.
During the second day of testimony in Vanessa Bryant’s federal lawsuit against the county, Deputy Reserve David Katz, who is affiliated with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, recounted the distressing accident.
Katz informed the jury that there was a bigger deceased individual who was the former Lakers celebrity, and he mentioned, “At a certain moment, I found myself positioned above two deceased individuals.”
“[He gave testimony] of blood found in different locations. Additionally, there were different fragments of helicopters, which were entangled with trees and bushes… Fragments of flesh hanging, scattered limbs, and body parts [were present].”
Captain Emily Taucher, from the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office, provided testimony afterwards, confirming the identity of Bryant’s burnt and twisted remains by matching fingerprints. Additionally, Taucher discovered the body approximately 10 feet away from the helicopter’s main body.
“His hand was traumatically severed,” Taucher said, adding that the basketball legend’s right arm was detached from his body.
She mentioned that he also experienced various head and neck wounds.

In court, she gave her statement that the body of Gianna Bryant, the 13-year-old daughter of Bryant, along with two other individuals, Sarah Chester and Keri Altobelli, was discovered in a steep and narrow valley.
During Vanessa Bryant’s federal invasion-of-privacy lawsuit against Los Angeles County, officials took the stand and shared photos of her late husband’s disfigured corpse, which were claimed to be shared by personnel from the fire and deputies.
Katz, who was a member of the Malibu Search and Rescue Team dispatched to the crash site, stated that he received a radio communication from a superior instructing him to refrain from capturing any photographs of the incident as he ascended a hill to reach the scene in Calabasas.

Deputy Douglas Johnson had canvassed over 100 photos of the remains, according to Katz. Katz mentioned that he was informed about this when he arrived, just a few minutes after receiving the call.
Katz testified that he relayed a message to Johnson, instructing him not to take any photos nearby someone at the post command, but the deputy replied that he was instructed to do so.
Katz stated that he cannot remember receiving any instruction on what actions to take when an image has been shared with him, in response to inquiries about the Sheriff’s Department’s protocols concerning capturing photos during incidents.

On Thursday, Rob Pelinka, the General Manager of the LA Lakers and a close friend of Bryan, who also testified as an agent, wants all of his pal’s crash photos nixed.
“I would like them obliterated, eliminated from the cosmos,” Pelinka stated regarding the images that were purportedly exchanged by initial responders.
Pelinka broke down in tears while testifying on Wednesday, as he recalled the day he tragically lost Bryant and his goddaughter, Gianna Bryant.
Vanessa Bryant continues to struggle with anxiety and grief over the possibility that the pictures taken at the site could be leaked to the public, as he testified on the first day while being observed by her three surviving daughters.
Pelinka said that Vanessa, whom he frequently called his sister, has been feeling distressed, horrified, and angry. He questioned how this could have happened, as the individuals responsible for this terrible act are the same individuals entrusted with our protection.
Vanessa Bryant appeared in court on Thursday, wearing a tight, long A-line skirt and a cream-colored blouse. However, her testimony was not present.
