If you don’t go to USC, you might assume that the lyrics to Fleetwood Mac’s popular song “Tusk” are as follows.

Why don’t you ask him if he’s going to stay? Why don’t you ask him if he’s going away? Why don’t you tell me what’s going on?Why don’t you tell me who’s on the phone? Why don’t you ask him what’s going on?Why don’t you ask him who’s the latest on his throne?Don’t say that you love me!Just tell me that you want me!Tusk! Tusk! Tusk! Tusk!Tusk! Tusk! Tusk! Tusk!Tusk! Tusk! Tusk! Tusk!Tusk! Tusk! Tusk! Tusk!Tusk!

Not true. The song lyrics are actually as stated below:

Why don’t you ask him if he’s going to stay? Why don’t you ask him if he’s going away? Why don’t you tell me what’s going on?Why don’t you tell me who’s on the phone? Why don’t you ask him what’s going on?Why don’t you ask him who’s the latest on his throne?Don’t say that you love me!U-C-L-A sucks!Just tell me that you want me!Tusk! U-C-L-A sucks!Just say that you love me!Tusk! Tusk! U-C-L-A sucks!Tusk!U-C-L-A sucks!Tusk!U-C-L-A sucks!Tusk! Tusk! Tusk! U-C-L-A sucks!Tusk!

UCLA is terrible! You should skip or mumble all those parts that sound great in a stadium, but look odd on paper. As if you were singing Tusk like a Trojan, we were watching our ESPN Tonight while screaming at the top of your lungs. UCLA sucks!

Just like their top-ranked basketball teams regularly upset opponents, the football team came up short with a loss to Wyoming in the Las Vegas Bowl, only trailing by less than a touchdown. USC, ranked No. 1, found themselves as underdogs in the first round of the NCAA playoffs. UCLA, on the other hand, truly disappoints.

Why did he deserve it this year? Dorrell concluded that he had deserved a two-year prolongation and was presented with a one-year extension at the conclusion of the previous season because he believed he hadn’t deserved it. Coach Karl Dorrell rejected pitiful indications of the current era for UCLA this year, brimming with a moral triumph in his possession.

(*1) I guess, that’s not terrible. In each of his initial two seasons, Dorrell becomes the inaugural Bruin coach to guide his team to a bowl game. Additionally, he is the first Bruin coach to suffer consecutive bowl game losses against WAC and Mountain West opponents. Naturally.

2003: Fresno State 17, UCLA 9 (Bruins conclude with a 6-7 record)2004: Wyoming 24, UCLA 21 (Bruins finished with a 6-6 record).

I guess I’m playing football in Westwood, ending your season with a .500 record and an embarrassing loss in the bowl game, because more and more of it is what you want.

On the other hand, Wyoming is thrilled to have plenty. They were a huge dog in this game. After all, Wyoming finished with the worst conference record in the MWC, and they were the only two teams. Plus, it was their first victory in decades. If you are 37 years old or younger, you’ve never known Wyoming to be the winner of a bowl game. It last happened in 1966. The Cowboys are savoring this good long time. But, Trojan fans will also need to pay more attention to this holiday season.

In his following two seasons, Pete Carroll reconstructed the Trojans within two years, experiencing defeat in the Vegas Bowl in his initial season but recovering to achieve victory in both the Orange Bowl and the Rose Bowl. Carroll is currently guiding USC towards its fourth bowl game in his fourth season and is also leading the inaugural Pac-10 team to participate in the BCS championship game, of course, just across town.
