A New Chapter in Call of Duty’s Modern Warfare Universe Begins Tomorrow

A message from the Call of Duty team.

In just 24 hours, players will have the opportunity to jump into the Shadow Siege Limited Time Event and get a first look at the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. The game is set to launch on November 10th and represents a significant milestone for the franchise. For the first time in Call of Duty’s history, this year’s premium release serves as a direct sequel to the previous year’s Modern Warfare II.

The vision to deliver back-to-back Modern Warfare games has been years in the making. Sledgehammer Games has worked closely with Infinity Ward to create a blockbuster sequel in the Modern Warfare series, featuring the return of iconic heroes and villains. With this direct sequel, players will have the opportunity to grow closer to the characters, delve deeper into the storylines, and continue building their progression and loadouts without any interruption.

Each title release in the Modern Warfare series offers a unique gameplay experience and innovative features. However, Modern Warfare III aims to pay off what the previous titles have set up. It promises to settle old scores while also starting new ones. The back-to-back premium releases have the Call of Duty team thrilled for what the future holds for Modern Warfare and the entire franchise.

Exciting Features to Look Forward To

While the Shadow Siege Limited Time Event marks the beginning of the Modern Warfare III journey, the development teams have their sights set on creating an incredible, premium annual game experience across various modes, including Campaign, Multiplayer, Co-operative, and deep integration with Call of Duty: Warzone.

  • All-New Campaign: For the first time ever, players can experience a direct sequel in back-to-back years. The new Campaign marks the return of Makarov, a beloved character from the franchise.
  • Carry Forward: Players will have the ability to continue enjoying their player inventory and weapon progression from last year’s Modern Warfare II into the all-new Modern Warfare III.
  • Zombies: More information will be coming soon on the new Modern Warfare Zombies mode, which promises to be the largest Zombies offering to date.
  • New Open Combat Missions: The Campaign mode will feature new Open Combat missions, allowing players to engage in intense battles in diverse environments.
  • Customization Options: Multiplayer operators can be customized with new Combat Vests and a Perk system. The game will also introduce a new Tac-Stance movement and After-Market Parts for unparalleled Gunsmith customization.
  • Call of Duty HQ: Players will have one access point for all their future Call of Duty content. With Call of Duty HQ, navigating between games and modes will be easier than ever.
  • Anti-Cheat and Anti-Toxicity Measures: Modern Warfare III will feature new additions to the Ricochet Anti-Cheat system and plans to combat toxicity, ensuring a fun, fair, and welcoming online experience for all players.
  • Post-Launch Content: A roadmap of post-launch live seasons will provide players with additional new content to keep the experience fresh and exciting.

The Call of Duty team is excited to unpack more information in the coming weeks leading up to the November 10th release. Players can expect a thrilling continuation of the Modern Warfare saga, filled with intense action, compelling narratives, and innovative gameplay mechanics.
