You can enter and select your own numbers by choosing a Quick Pick or picking your own numbers in 39 consecutive drawings. You can enter by filling out a playslip from any one of over 17,000 licensed retailers in the state and you must be at least 18 years of age to play Powerball in New York.

The ticket sales for Empire State will close at 10:00 pm ET on the day before the drawing, so make sure you submit your complete entry before the deadline.

Prizes valued at $600 or less can be claimed from either one of the 16 Lottery Customer Service Centers or any authorized retailer.

Customer Support Centers have the capability to handle prizes valued at $601 or higher. Prizes that exceed $600 cannot be disbursed by retailers. In the event that you bring your ticket to a retailer to collect a prize of this magnitude, you will receive a File Claim receipt as evidence that your ticket has been verified. Following this, you will be required to finalize your claim at a Customer Support Center.

When you visit a Customer Service Center to claim prizes up to $50,000, you must present the completed form, along with your winning ticket, as evidence of identification and claims.

If you win the jackpot in Schenectady, the claims for the Unit Payment Prize will be transferred onto you. If you’re the winner, you will need to fill out the ‘Change of Status’ and ‘Deposit Authorization’ forms. Prizes, including the Powerball jackpot, that exceed $50,000 cannot be paid out by the Claim Centers.

In New York, to receive your reward, you are given a timeframe of one year starting from the Powerball draw date. In case any funds remain uncollected after the specified deadline for upcoming draws, they will be either added back to the prize fund or allocated towards future jackpots and special occasions.
