Having a short commute is essential to making this job fun. We only assign clients who live within 5 miles from you. All dog walking and pet sitting assignments are flexible. If you truly love being outdoors and pets, and enjoy a self-managed and positive working environment, then this job is more of a lifestyle than just a flexible, part-time income generator. You will never have a set amount of hours to work each week when we call you for work, and the volume is sporadic. So, when you stay at home, you are not making any money. We do not guarantee the amount of pet sitting work you will have when you travel to clients.
What we are looking for in an ideal employee
We are looking for people who are well-organized, reliable, and honest and who love pets. Your schedule flexibility is key to this position. We expect you to be available 7 days a week, but you will not work every weekend.
Pet sitting and dog walking jobs are not scheduled every day. Additionally, there is a need for at least one 25-30-minute visit (or more if you are available) during evenings (from 6:30 to 9 pm) and mid-days (anytime between 12 and 3 pm). Moreover, early in the mornings (between 6:30 and 8 am), you will be required to do one or two (or more if you are available) 25-30-minute visits.
Here is a good example.
You will miss out on the entire assignment in that case. It will be difficult to accommodate a visit at midday due to your long commute. You are sitting within 5 miles of where you live and your pet. If your commute is not too far away from home, it is important to have another school or job. Your availability at midday is important, as you won’t be able to sit your pet during your lunch hour every day. With the flexibility to have late mornings and early evenings, you can possibly take a break during the day. If it’s a cat, the visits usually have more flexible timing. Let’s say we have an assignment for you starting on Saturday morning and Tuesday evening.
During holidays, even with a very busy schedule, it’s flexible to drive all over the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. You won’t have to live within a 5-mile radius from where you sit, your pet. You’ll still be able to spend time with friends and family, and here you’ll just have a few pets sitting. Again, with the flexibility of this job, you won’t be working non-stop during holidays. We will provide a bonus pay for working during major holidays. You must be available to work during major holidays.
