Retin-A Update ~ Results on 51 Year Old Skin After 9 Months

If you want to see actual results on an actual person, you should place the person who is actually old in the right place. So, if you’re looking for reviews on anti-aging products, only find ones posted by people under 35 with no wrinkles! I’m tired of looking for reviews, but I don’t know about you. Apparently, I love posting pictures of my aging skin without makeup so much that I’m doing it again after 9 months of using Retin-A. This is an update on my results at 51 years old.

I started using Tretinoin 0.05% cream (retin-a) and Vitamin C serum 9 months ago to enhance the appearance of my wrinkles, age spots, and overall firmness and clarity of my skin. Tretinoin has been proven to reduce fine lines, improve firmness, and stimulate collagen production. However, I make sure to avoid applying the tretinoin cream to sensitive areas such as the eyes, lips, and nostrils as it may cause irritation. Instead, I focus on applying a pea-sized amount of the cream to my cheeks, forehead, and chin. Additionally, Vitamin C, known for its antioxidant properties, aids in protecting the skin against free radicals, sun damage, and reducing age spots and discoloration.

Whether or not you employ anti-aging products, it is essential to utilize an SPF of 30 or higher on a daily basis to reduce signs of aging and decrease the likelihood of developing skin cancer. Additionally, if you make use of any of these products, it is necessary to apply sunscreen every day to safeguard your skin and ensure the active ingredients remain effective by preventing their deterioration. Healthcare professionals suggest gradually incorporating this skincare routine to minimize potential irritation, as it can be harsh and not well-tolerated by everyone. Personally, I utilize the vitamin C serum in the morning and alternate it with a glycolic acid serum, which serves as an exfoliant to eliminate the outer layers of deceased cells that contribute to dullness. Furthermore, I apply the tretinoin each night.

Throughout the process, you will notice minor enhancements, but it may take up to 2 years to fully witness the impact of retin-a. Adopting this approach resulted in minimal redness, irritation, or peeling. After 3 months, I increased the frequency to every night and maintained it during the summer. Subsequently, I switched to every other night and continued with this routine throughout the summer. Initially, I began by applying tretinoin once a week for the initial month, then progressed to twice a week for the following month, and finally increased it to 3 times a week for another month.

After reaching my 40s, I was suddenly horrified to see how bad my skin looked. I was fairly horrified to see the loss of firmness, wrinkles, age spots, and overall damage that has taken a toll on my skin. My skin is now damaged and it is evident that all the damage is due to the sun. Back in the 70s, when I was growing up, our goal was to get a dark deep tan as quickly as possible, so we would tan, peel, and even get sunburned every summer.

I’m trying to stop scammers from stealing images of the products they sell by watermarking each photo. Please excuse the giant watermark over each photo. Here are the before and after pictures, so you can see the results for yourself. I’m trying to match the facial expression, lighting, focus, and angle, with no makeup and un-retouched photos.

I am pleasantly surprised by the enhancement in my overall complexion, tightness (particularly around the jawline), and reduction in fine lines. The impact it has had on my drooping eyelids, which have always been hooded but began to sag in my 40s, is particularly delightful. It achieves this through communication between skin cells and is delivering remarkable benefits to them, despite not directly applying the creams and serums to my eyelids. I am eagerly anticipating further improvements in the second year, as the results are expected to enhance with prolonged usage.
