If you’ve checked out the menu of Burger King lately, you might have observed that the Ch’King is absent.
Indeed, it seems that Burger King has withdrawn from the paper-wrapped Chicken Sandwich Wars by discontinuing the Ch’King.
The BK felt like a small element, but it was okay. It stood up against the KFCs or Popeyes of the world, and I didn’t think much of it. However, it had an old-fashioned cash register or a rooster-like sounding and loud announcement. I’m going to miss hearing it, but I’m also going to miss the feeling of all you know about the Ch’King. Now, I don’t know how you feel about it.
These sandwiches from Popeyes’ are less substantial than their big-ticket predecessor, but in my opinion, they have a better taste. The higher-ups must have felt the same way because the new Crispy Chicken Sandwiches from Burger King are in line with the traditional fast food chicken sandwiches that existed prior to the game changer.
The Classic version consists of a “crispy” white chicken fillet topped with tomato sauce, lettuce, and a savory royal sauce, all nestled between a toasted potato bun (mine is never mine, not).
The chicken sandwich, known as the “Premium,” is still popular as a fast food option. However, compared to the large and fatty Ch’King patty, it is not highly regarded by other soldiers in the War Sandwich Chicken due to its smaller size. Although it was still good, it did not live up to its advertised crispy chicken standards.

The flavor profile of the dressing that fits Caesar’s fancy is regal and lives up to its name. It tastes like a bit of parmesan cheese and is slightly peppery. It’s killer, and I couldn’t find confirmation for whether BK has used this sauce in the past, so I know this could be the sauce for the new brand of “the Royal Chicken Crispy BK”. The big draw of this is definitely royal.
The kicked sandwich definitely elevates its texture and flavor. Using them always results in a win, so potato buns are just a notch up from the standard bun and better in terms of being flat and out.
This sandwich seems to be made with a nice savory Caesar Salad topping, but it was an absolute mess on my sandwich, just kinda slopped on the lettuce.
I can’t really think of anything to enhance a chicken sandwich with, except for cheese and bacon. In my opinion, the Classic Chicken Sandwich topped with Swiss cheese and bacon, as well as the Southern BBQ and Spicy flavors, might not be as popular as their predecessor, the Crispy Chicken Sandwich from Burger King.

In any case, the “Return of Ch’King” campaign marks the beginning, and these axes will likely continue for the next two years. Additionally, you can still enjoy the classy chicken sandwich at King Burger, but it’s not as flashy and big as the Royal BK sandwich. So, if you’re feeling disappointed, don’t feel too bad. This new sandwich is a strong display, but it still stands as my long-standing gold standard, the original Chicken Sandwich from BK.
