Ingredients

  • Penne noodles: I relish penne because it is petite and effortless to consume, yet feel liberated to utilize any variety of pasta you possess at your disposal.
  • Shrimp: They are frequently available prepped and deveined, they are petite, succulent morsels of rich, delicate taste.
  • Garlic: Savory, earthy, and transforms into a sweet and fragrant flavor when cooked.
  • Broccoli: Low in calories, high in fiber, iron, potassium, and vitamins, broccoli is a great vegetable to include in your daily meals.
  • Lemon: This recipe utilizes both the juice and peel of a lemon, incorporating a vibrant, tangy, and invigorating taste to the dish.
  • Parmesan cheese: With a nutty and slightly fruity flavor, it is a firm cheese that complements pasta dishes beautifully.
  • Olive oil: A gentle, heart-healthy oil to assist in dressing and saucing the dish.
  • Cutting broccoli

Begin by cleansing and slicing your broccoli.

    Boiling pasta

Heat a saucepan of water with salt until it reaches boiling point, then include the pasta and prepare it according to the guidelines provided on the packaging.

    Adding broccoli to pasta

Place both broccoli and pasta to the side. Subsequently, strain and include the broccoli into the pot of pasta roughly 4 minutes prior to completion in order to cook it to a vibrant green shade.

    Seasoning raw shrimp

While the pasta and broccoli are cooking, you can gently dry and season your shrimp with salt and pepper.

    Pan frying shrimp

Cook the shrimp for approximately 3-4 minutes until they turn pink. After no more than 30 seconds, include the garlic and sauté it until it becomes fragrant. Additionally, heat a small amount of olive oil in a pan.

Adding pasta and broccoli to shrimp

After the shrimp is cooked, incorporate the set aside pasta and broccoli into the pan.

    Drizzling pasta with olive oil

Drizzle with the rest of the olive oil and fresh lemon juice.

    Freshly grating garlic

Include the zesty lemon peel, and I additionally enjoy adding extra freshly grated garlic.

    Freshly grating parmesan cheese

Finish by evenly coating everything with the warmed sauce, tossing it all together before topping it off with freshly grated parmesan cheese.

Forkful of shrimp and broccoli penne.

Sprinkle some extra parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, and fresh parsley on top. Enjoy your delicious Shrimp and Broccoli Penne!
