Stanley Tucci revealed that he tried to end his relationship with Felicity Blunt several times because he was worried about their 21-year age gap.
Emily Blunt, who co-starred in The Devil Wears Prada, accompanied her sister to the premiere of the film in 2006, where she introduced Stanley Tucci, who is 62 years old and stars in Citadel, to Felicity, a literary agent who is 41 years old.
The pair subsequently reunited in 2010 at Emily’s nuptials to John Krasinski after the passing of Tucci’s spouse Kate in 2009.
The star, now admitted, thought he was too advanced in age to pursue a relationship with Felicity, which eventually led to the near termination of their connection.
During an interview with BBC on Desert Island Discs, he mentioned that this person was incredibly special, and I knew that. However, I didn’t want to feel old for the rest of my life, and I’m 21 years older than she is. I kept trying to take a break from it and was afraid to get into a relationship.
After battling breast cancer, Kate, Tucci’s first wife, passed away, leaving him alone to raise their three daughters, Felicity, Camilla (21), and Isabel (23).
He continued, ‘Felicity has shown immense excellence in taking on the duty of looking after a widower and three children whose mother passed away.’
