TikTok famous ‘tan-through’ swimwear gives you even worse tan lines than normal — and it’s so see-through you can’t even wear it to the beach

“Tan-through” bathing suits have been extensively promoted on various social media platforms this year, presenting themselves as a clever remedy for individuals who dislike having faint, fair swimsuit marks.

During tanning, the fabric mesh swimsuits from brands like Solthruwear, Swim Sunnie, and Swimwear Bare claim to provide UV rays pass through for an even tan.

The hashtag #tanthrough has over 44 million views on TikTok, with shiny branded videos and sponsored reviews dominating the majority of it.

In any case, they are not effective. It is said that the bikinis were actually purchased by individuals – it was guessed that it was probably you and others – however.

@Dianazoel exclaimed, as she showcased her tan lines in one of the bikinis, “A word of caution to those who believe in the authenticity of tan-through swimwear advertisements, they are all deceptive.”

“Fun fact — you’re still going to get tan lines,” @.Jennilin echoed, pulling her bikini strap aside to show her tan line.

Sometimes, these tan-through bikinis can actually make tan lines weirder and more impractical than regular ones, to the extent that they may leave tan marks that are even more noticeable and bizarre. It’s true that they’re not always the best choice.

Amanda Adams wore a bikini from Sunnie Swim while testing a video, noting that the rest of the swimsuit is made of a trim mesh fabric while walking her dog.

“I’m concerned about the width of these seams,” she mentioned in the TikTok.

She exclaimed, “That concludes it, it isn’t effective.” She stated, “What is this thick mark on my torso?” Precisely where the edging was, she indicated a subtle line, and indeed, 15 minutes later.

They’re also completely see-through

Although Adams concealed her bosom in her personal critique, a supporter of a translucent swimsuit had to utilize nipple pads to exhibit the swimsuit on video because, well, they’re crafted entirely from mesh. A query that many TikTok users have is how transparent the swimsuits truly appear.

“In the middle of the bikini top, she inexplicably came with these white, fat pads – they just put them in,” Adams told Insider. “It’s an incredibly ugly idea, you can see through it,” she laughed.

The sole advantage, Adams mentioned, is that the swimsuit is “incredibly comfortable,” so she’ll occasionally continue to wear it.
