President Donald Trump has urged residents in the critical political battleground of North Carolina to try to vote twice in the upcoming November 3rd election, igniting a furor and potentially acting as a fraud voter, both in person and by mail, according to Reuters.
In an interview with WECT-TV in Wilmington, North Carolina, they clearly stated that they will not be able to win the person’s vote if the current system is considered good enough.
Some have argued that expanding mail-in voting, without evidence, would disrupt the November election because President Trump has repeatedly claimed that the coronavirus pandemic would increase voter fraud, even though experts say that any kind of voter fraud is extremely rare in the United States.
Insinuating tampering with the mail-in vote, he proposed that Democrats might attempt to unlawfully acquire the election. Trump reiterated his plea for voters to personally attend the polling stations, irrespective of having already sent their ballot by mail, during a rally on Thursday evening.
Latrobe, Pennsylvania, a pivotal state in the election, Trump declared, “It is imperative to ensure the validity of your vote, as the only way they can triumph over us is by engaging in such activities.”
In order to accomplish this, encourage others to once again cast their vote in order to ensure that it is not considered a felony. It should be noted that in certain states, including North Carolina, voting more than once in an election is deemed illegal.
Ballots are scheduled to be sent by mail in North Carolina on Friday.
Democrat Josh Stein, the Attorney General of North Carolina, took to Twitter and wrote outrageously that the Republican president had encouraged Carolinians to break the law in order to sow chaos in our election.
In November, the desire of the individuals is upheld to ensure that everything within my capability is accomplished to cast two votes! However, refrain from voting, “Ensure that you participate in the electoral process,” expressed Stein.
Trump’s presidential campaign and the White House subsequently denied the allegation that he had any intention of directing people to vote multiple times.
On Thursday, Kayleigh McEnany, the spokeswoman for the White House, told Fox News Channel that it is imperative to vote and ensure that your vote is clearly and accurately tabulated. She also emphasized that the president is not suggesting anything unlawful.
However, in a series of tweets on Thursday morning, Trump urged his supporters to follow up by attempting to vote in person and also encouraged early voting by mail.
“If the mail-in voting system has not worked properly, your vote may not be able to be counted. Trump wrote, ‘If your vote has not been tabulated, go to your polling place to see whether it has been counted or not. You can also vote early or on Election Day.'”
While some states begin counting mail-in ballots two weeks before the election date, others do not start counting them until after the polls close.
The US has a long history of trustworthiness in mail-in voting, which was predicted this year. Facebook, Inc. And Twitter, Inc. Later placed warnings on Trump’s tweets for violating their election integrity and civic rules, and Facebook also placed a new label on Trump’s post.
Facebook spokesperson A. Told Reuters on Thursday afternoon that they had not yet identified versions of the video. The spokesperson said that if the video of Trump talking was shared without any context, captions, or support, Facebook would also remove it.
COMMITTING VOTE FRAUD IS CONSIDERED A FELONY.
The National Democratic Committee accused President Trump of undermining confidence in the fairness of the election and encouraging voter fraud.
Reyna Walters-Morgan, the director of voter protection for the DNC, expressed in a statement, “Let’s make it easier for Americans to participate in our democracy by ensuring that it is secure and safe to vote by mail and not harder to do so – this should be the way for Trump.”
According to Patrick Gannon, a spokesperson for North Carolina’s State Board of Elections, regardless of whether individuals voted by mail or in person first, they would not be able to cast two ballots.
Gannon stated, “Your vote cast in person will be considered valid if you choose to vote in person prior to the arrival of your absentee ballot, and if it hasn’t been delivered yet, and subsequently you send a ballot by mail.” “Engaging in the act of voting twice during an election constitutes a criminal offense.”
He expressed that in the event of an individual voting in person before the arrival of a mail-in ballot, the latter would not be considered in the final tally.
Nearly four out of every five American voters cast their presidential ballots by mail in 2016, as many Americans cannot make it to the polls to vote.
Experts have cautioned that the winner of the election may not be clear on election night as it will take time to verify and count all the ballots. This is because, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, a surge in the number of mail-in ballots is expected, as voters seek to avoid the risk of infection.
