Voya Insurance and Annuity Company
On September 1st, 2019, the Legal Entity purchased by Venerable, known as Venerable Insurance and Annuity Company, underwent a legal name change and is now called VOYA Insurance and Annuity Company.
Venerable aims to achieve growth by acquiring existing variable annuity portfolios from companies that want to sell their insurance policies. Venerable has no intention of selling its own variable annuities, but rather intends to sell its annuities.
The company’s headquarters is equally divided between West Chester, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia, and Des Moines, Iowa, where a portion of its variable annuity business is based, Voya.
According to Patrick Lusk, President and CEO of Venerable Insurance and Annuity Company, the report stated that these blocks usually align favorably for private equity investors who are interested in overseeing the assets of essentially discontinued business blocks. The considerable market potential lies in acquiring and managing blocks of variable annuities.
Best A.M. Stated that it expects to continue seeing interest from private equity funds in the segment annuity and life. The company also plans to manage additional assets and add the model run-off to further increase its blocks by purchasing additional blocks, which can also enable private equity firms to become platforms for these run-off blocks.
