In January 2022, Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of Theranos, was found guilty of four counts of fraud and sentenced to 11 years behind bars. Although her subsequent marriage and the delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic contributed to putting her investigation and the rest of her life on hold, we still expect the controversy surrounding her company to continue throughout the rest of her sentence, which began in May 2023.

Holmes added, “It has been two years of writing all this stuff about me and you. I think it allows us to know each other in a completely different way when we walk in skepticism versus when we meet in roses and sunshine, if you know what I mean. Even though he still tried to convince me not to get married, I know deep down in the other way that we both know each other.”
Their attraction was unquestionable, but Holmes and Evans revealed her pregnancy with their first child, William, who is now almost 2 years old, when Holmes was initially scheduled to face trials. Holmes displayed her visible pregnancy during her sentencing trial in Nov. 2022 for her second child. Her defense team requested leniency in Holmes’s sentence based on this, although court records accused Holmes of deliberately getting pregnant to evade imprisonment. Evans understandably had reservations about getting involved with Holmes.

“My heart is broken as I think about the days my son grows up and forms a relationship with his mother on the other side of the armed glass,” he wrote. “Her capacity to change the world is limitless.” Evans wrote a testimonial letter on page 12 of the letter-page, serving as a character witness to judge Liz’s sentencing before her trial. Regardless of what Holmes said about Evans, she has remained supportive.

Evans shared that they are forced to move because they never unpack every time they find a new place. Despite the fortune and fame, they have to endure the negative attention.
