Who won the Heisman Trophy in 2022? Full voting results, stats, list of award winners

On Saturday, the esteemed individual accolade in American sports was presented to Caleb Williams, the quarterback of USC.

In college football, Bennett from Stetson University in Georgia, Max from TCU, and C.J. From Ohio State defeated Williams, earning themselves an immortal place in the history of the sport and bringing the 45-pound bronze Heisman Trophy home.

The Trojans’ signal-caller earned the honor by completing 66 percent of his passes, with 10 rushing touchdowns and 372 yards, while also adding four interceptions to his 37 touchdowns and 4,075 yards.

Although he secured the Heisman trophy, he did acknowledge that his fellow competitors had an upper hand in one aspect during that particular period.

“Williams informed Bennett, Duggan, and Stroud during his acceptance speech that it seems impossible to succeed in every situation, but all of them managed to qualify for the College Football Playoff. It’s me who is standing here today.”

Williams, who was just one victory away from reaching the Playoff, spearheaded the Trojans’ efforts against Utah in the Pac-12 championship. Among the players in New York, only Williams failed to secure a spot in the Playoff, indicating that the voters highly appreciated the finalists’ impact on their respective teams in the context of the Playoff.

The Heisman Trophy is a remarkable consolation award.

In 2005, Bush claimed the championship, establishing himself as the inaugural Trojan to secure the accolade. Williams is the seventh Trojan to attain the prestigious recognition in collegiate football, however, the Heisman Trust does not acknowledge Reggie Bush.

Bijan Robinson and Blake Corum, rushers, are the sole pair of non-quarterback athletes. Bryce Young, the reigning Heisman victor, secured sixth position in the balloting, with the fifth- through 10th-place participants being disclosed on Thursday.
