Advocates launched a new campaign on Twitter over the weekend titled “Justice for Johnny Depp” after Amber Heard, the ex-wife of actor Johnny Depp, accused him of domestic violence when filing for divorce by releasing an audio recording.
Instead of her, Depp was the individual avoiding punches and verbal attacks. Heard alleges that she experienced documented mistreatment that illuminates their 18-month union; however, exercise caution as it involves offensive language. Skip ahead to the 26-minute point in the audio.
Despite the evidence, Roberta Kaplan, the lawyer for Heard, maintains that her client is also a victim of mistreatment.
In a statement, she expressed, “The mere act of a woman engaging in a physical altercation or expressing her disagreement does not imply that she has not endured ongoing domestic violence and mistreatment.” Mr. Depp seems to be suggesting that if Ms. Heard slapped him, she cannot also be considered a victim, which he believes is an unfounded belief or misconception.
The couple has been duking it out in court since Heard filed her initial complaint in May 2016, with both drama and back-and-forth statements between them getting more attention on social media than binge-worthy television series on Netflix.
It is improbable that the court’s presentation of Heard confessing to striking Depp, ridiculing him, and labeling him as an infant will provide any assistance to him. If anything, it will solely contribute to further perplexity. Nevertheless, the probability remains low.
Their flames will remain ignited and the blood, sweat, and tears of their victims will refrain from reaching a boiling point, as long as the judicial system permits. These individuals possess the ability to identify a legal discrepancy even from a significant distance and are experts in manipulation. They are toxic individuals who possess the knowledge of how to provoke a situation.
Unfortunately, the individual who informed me neglected to mention the potential extent of the expenses associated with those bills and the duration it could take to build a strong case. As my trial took an unexpected turn, a lawyer appointed to represent me reassured, “While justice may not be guaranteed, you will undoubtedly attain a resolution.”
How do you fix a broken system when there are not enough resources to thoroughly investigate? In cases where abusers deliberately confuse the courts with outrageous and often false allegations, while continuing to harass their victims behind the scenes, it is evident that they have ulterior motives. Even though it may be inadmissible, I can almost guarantee the audio recording in this case has a hidden agenda.
“During the year 2018, Depp expressed to British GQ, ‘I will find myself positioned on the correct side of the tumultuous rapids and the ultimate reality will be revealed.’ ‘If I were required to abandon everything at this very moment, including my profession and all associated with it, and bid farewell, then I would be content,’ he stated. ‘I am fully aware of the genuine reality.'”
Maybe one day, the courts will find a better way to uphold the law by continuously forcing victims to face their abusers, even when dealing with fraud, because evidence never really ends. Despite the trial ending in three years, it took only four years for the judge to issue a fair resolution in my case, but I won’t brag about it.
